I like the place so well my husband and I purchased a condo. The European Village is moving back up, the old owners ran it to the ground but now it's coming alive again. The people there are so friendly, they make you feel like your at home. They are making alot of new changes and I as one will stand by them. Some of the shops are gone but there are some really good one there to. Hoping they get some shops there that will attract youn people there and that will stay open later. So please come try the New European Village.
I knew there was not a pool, but the unit we rented was very nice (205B),clean and had no trouble working the key pad. It was very well priced and look forward to going back again next year. Had read some very nasty reviews and quite frankly, none of what we read happened to us. There were no drunks and it was not noisey. We rented our unit from the owner and she was very easy to work with.
We made online reservations for a three day stay and arrived as scheduled. The doors were locked, some phone numbers were disconnected, and no one answered emails, messages, or notes we slipped under the door. We had do find another place to stay at 9:00 PM. Finally, the next day, we were told that the European Village Resort had been shut down due to rain damaged elevators. I am crossing my fingers that our credit card will not be charged, as promised by the EV rep. who finally took our call on the second day. Only good thing to come of the experience was some good meals at 2 of the restaurants on the EV site. Keep looking for somewhere else to stay.
Booked 11 rooms for a wedding party. Man at desk at check-in said he didn't work there. Dirty sheets and towels, phones removed from all rooms by phone company, toilet plugged up, rugs stained, no lights in foyer, some rooms gave heat rather than air, no one at desk for check out. Total disaster. Beware!
The European Village shops and stores are great, and they come highly recommended--but DO NOT try and stay at the hotel there, which is in complete meltdown as of August 2008. I live in Palm Coast, and twice in the last two weeks have had friends/family visit and try and stay at the European Village. In both cases, check-in was completely disorganized, (they gave the wrong key out 3 times so I wonder whose room key we had?), and there were significant sanitary issues on my brother's visit. I have heard comments made by people who know more about what's going on there with the new management, and based on their comments, and our own experiences on two recent visits, strongly suggest that you look elsewhere for accommodations--very strongly!
My husband & I booked a room at the European Village in Palm Coast, FL for a 1 night stay on a Saturday night.
The resort and amentiies looked nice and upscale, we even liked our room! After we checked in we left the hotel to go see a movie in Ormond Beach. We returned to our room sometime around 10pm. Soon after we arrived back at our room we realized that we were directly above a nightclub. We knew they had nightlife around the resort, but that wasn't the problem. The problem started when we called the front desk and told him that our walls were vibrating and it's very loud in our room, then we were told by the clerk that the music doesn't stop till about 2am.
We were NEVER offered another room, so at 1:15AM we decided that we've had enough and checked-out. The desk clerk informed us that he had no authority to refund our credit card and that we'd have to call accounting in the morning (Sun.). So in the morning, we called this accounting person and she told us it would be taken care of 1st thing Mon. AM. On Monday AM I called the front desk to confirm the refund, and was told by another clerk that the refund was not issued and that ususally the NEVER issue refunds and that the clerk that worked on that night probably couldn't have moved us anyway and that they don't have access to all the rooms, and again she has no authority to help me and there was not anyone with any authority to speak with. I'm told again I'd have to wait to speak with the accountant on Wed. afternoon. So on Wed. afternoon I spoke with the accountant and she told me that she never said we'd get a refund, but that her "controller" would be in on Monday and that they said they would NOT refund our money. After a couple phone calls to her controller the final outcome was the same...the hotel refuses to refund our money and that we will just have to contest the charges on our CC. She would not give me any corporate contact or # or address info. She did however offer to give us a comp. for a future stay to prove that they are nice place. We refused their offer for reasons all explained above! Why whould we want to stay at a hotel that never has anyone on duty with any authority to either move a customer or whatever the case may be.
There are reviews on this resort on palmcoast.biz and the issues are very similar! I'm amazed and in total shock that this place is still in business. I've never been treated so poorly at any establishment.
Could you please email me the name and person in charge of entertainment? We attended a "Ginn Golf Tournament" show on March 28, 2007 at The European Village and had dinner at Messaluna's Restaurant we had the best time because of a group that was playing center stage the groups name was: "THE GREATEST MOMENTS IN TIME" This group really had the croud entertained. We were unable to return to The European Village Resort for quite some time. We heard that there was going to be a big Memorial Day Event on May 26, 2007. My Wife and Myself decided to go and have dinner at The Village and to our suprise Center Stage Was: "The Greatest Moments In Time" We had such a blast we called all of our friends to come down and join us for dinner because of this group. We danced all night and 4 of our friends decided to stay over at the Resort and it was good times this group was entertaining about 1000 people and everyone was having as much fun as we were. It is hard to believe that one groups energy can make us have fun and spend money. Since then the entertainment was no more it was like a ghost town the few times we went back. I was wondering when this group will be back to perform if so we are there? Also could you tell me who the owners of the village is? We have been hearing that it was sold and thats why the entertainment ended. Please could you send me any information on what type of entertainment is performing and who will be performing on the stage. You really need to get this group back at The Village they were outstanding with their performance. Thank You! Raymond Samith
We totally enjoyed our stay! Our room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable... everything you need is right there, shops, resturants, clubs, music and the waterway is just across the street. We even saw some small sharks? (big fish) the water was so clear (intercoastal)Only complaint is the front desk staff was a little unknowing about local events and even things in the center itself, but everyone else was superfriendly! We enjoyed ourselves.
