Peace and quiet
We were at Cloud Dance in May 2011. Today I wasn't at home and had to look it up online at our friends' house and I saw the negative rate from "Camillo" at this website. When I called to book 2 of the cabins for October, I asked the owner Susan if they ever saw the online ratings and they had not. I read it to her and she said it was interesting because they had never had a month-long reservation and they had never had to close the cabins for any reason. I think someone has an axe to grind because we've been going to the cabins for years and have always had the best service. Years ago she used to make biscuits for guests but now she takes pie orders. Oh boo hoo. No more biscuits; we must suffer with pie. Homemade apple pie. Anyway, the other thing was the comment about Garner S.P. She said their guests don't go there as a base camp for Garner, but they have info on the area in the office that they give out to anybody who wants to go to the State Park. So that was an odd reference. So anyone who has gone to Cloud Dance will already want to go back unless they're the ones who were escorted off the property by the sheriff's deputy! It's the best place to get out of the city and relax alone just the two of us or with friends. There's plenty of space for you to bring friends who never experienced Cloud Dance... what a nice idea. OH!! That's what we're doing in October! We also love going out there when the place is all done up for the Christmas holidays. Our trip in May was a 3-day weekend of much-needed peace and quiet. My husband has golfed at a course real close to the cabins in the past, too. We just keep going back no matter whether the river is up, if it's summer or winter, or anything like that. We just want to watch deer, birds, read, cook, eat and rest. And anybody who has gone there already knows the staff is gracious. Lordy! It's Texas after all!!!
