The Galvestonian Resort, Galveston

We went to Galveston for a quick trip to the ocean. we were looking for a nice, safe and clean place to stay with (2) small children. The Galvestonian was perfect. The staff was friendly. The rooms were newly remodled after Ike and very nice. Perfect private beach and we could walk out of the condo and be right on the beach. Would recommend to anyone.

My family of 4 have been visiting The Galvestonian for 13 years. I grew up in the area and have seen a lot of changes in Galveston each time we travel from Ohio to the Island. Overall, the development appears to be a huge success, however our main reason for choosing the Galvestonian was it's remoteness at the undeveloped east end of the island. With the opening of two 27 floor towers on the west side of the condominium and "Beachtown" on the east, we're concerned about how quiet the area and beach may be on our next visit in June. The Galvestonian is an exemplary place, in all aspects, to stay on the Island, but be aware that it may not be as secluded and quiet as before.

While everywhere else on Galveston Island is crowded, noisy and too cliquish and touristy, The Galvestonian is a nice quiet place on the beach... with private access to the beach, pool, Jacuzzi and a staff just to die for. The condos all have gulf and beach views. The unit I stayed in was totally loaded with modern appliances, huge TV’s and a luxury not found anywhere else on the island. My biggest rave is the staff. Very friendly, helpful and professional. It is a nice get-a-way from the usual touristy spots to stay and well worth every penny we spent to stay there.

We found this place while staying elsewhere on the island - further up Seawall Blvd, near where Walmart now is. The noise of the traffic there is awful and you take your life in your hands if you cross the road to get to the beach. The Galvestonian is quiet, right on the beach with stunning views. The staff are excellent and the facilities superb. Can't wait to go back next month.

This hotel is probly the best hotel on the island. My family (2 kids 13 and 9) love it. There is a veiw that is to die for and the beach is right at your fingertips. When you walk to your rooom you can see a veiw of the whole island. The staff was very helpful and fast. Our room was clean right down to the top of the fridge. The location shows of the best of galveston island and is a must for familys on Spring break to get away from the crowd. The pool is a great place to cool off after a nice day at the beach. I have surfers in my family so we enjoyed the quietness and room to spread out. I HIGHLEY reccomend this hotel to any beach lovers going to Galveston. I know that my family will be staying here in the years to come.

We have stayed at the Galvestonian for no less than 5 years in a row. This year and last year the new management mis-handled our reservation. When we arrived we were told we had no reservation and when confronted with the written confirmation their attitude was indifferent. After considerable discussion they agreed to allow us to stay 3 nights in a lower priced condo. As for the rest of our visit, they would make no effort to find us suitable lodging.
