After two nights we sought refugee in Galveston
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/08
This place is run down and in desperate need of rehab, a good exterminator and some ammenities. The 5 gallons of water on the counter with a note to not drink the water should have been enough to make us turn around an leave but we decided to give it a shot. On the weekends the beach is over run with people having bonfires and parties until all hours, there is no cable, NO phone/cell service at all. The beaches were dirty, our condo was in poor condition, the carpet worn, the kitchen floor was spongy and we had several giant cockroaches. We had to drive 20+ miles to Galveston for absolutely everything. After 2 nights of misery we recloated to a nice hotel in Galveston.

Don't waste a week's vacation here!
By Mary, 07/12/08
We just returned from this "resort" - we were extremely disappointed. There was nothing for the kids to do - there was one pool that had scum floating on top of it. It took them 2 days to clean it. The beach was filthy - there was seaweed all over the place, nowhere to even sit down. The condos were run down and old, falling apart. The dishwasher looked like it was from the 70's - there was rust all over the utensils. To go anywhere (even the nearest restaurant) was a 30 minute drive. Even the grounds were unkempt and dirty. Guests would gut their day's catch from fishing and throw them all over the courtyard where my kids had to walk to reach the pool. I feel as if we wasted a precious week of vacation here. I couldn't wait for the week to be over.

Rustic for sure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/07
It is a strecth to call this a resort. It is old and the pool has a nasty looking black bottom, however it appears clean. The facilty is old but is well kept and clean. The place kind of grows on you. It is very secluded and right on the ocean which imakes it very peaceful and quiet. This is a good place to go for to completely chill out. The rooms dont have telephones so not laptop and very poor cell phone reception. This place grows on you and the peaceful location is different and welcome. When I first got there I wanted to leave but I stuck it out now I look back on the week there with pleasure.
