This place is the most pet UNFRIENDLY that we have ever stayed in and the owners/management are rude, crude and cater to their friends bigtime at the expense of ordinary folks. We are long time RVer's and are very sensitive about cleaning up after and taking care of our pets everywhere we go but here they just hate pets and overnighters. (Example:I sat down, with our two small dogs, on a bench that was along the street going by the pool and well outside the fence around the pool. Very shortly one of these rude and crude workers came over to say loudly that dogs could not be anywhere near the pool. He didn't sound too intelligent so I didn't bother to ask how far I had to stay away. This same person is one of those who guides you into your site and routinely parks people he likes so they get space advantage which can be an issue in a cramped park. The laundry is inadequate, to say the least, only five small washers that do a lousy job and low temp dryers that require more money than most to dry anything! A park this size could use more. Streets are narrow and walking is dangerous because of limited space for parking and just getting in and out. And forget the awning, there is not enough space. In our 18 years of RVing I have not written a complaint before but this place needs to be avoided if you want to enjoy your stay in Rockport!
The park in great location, but to pricey. The park is to cramped. There is no where to park your vehicle. If you park over the yellow line, the manager will tell you to move your car. They will even knock on your door at nite to tell you to move your car. How rude is that. The managers are rude along with the owners..They do not like dogs.they do not tell you that,so you will come to park and pay.Too many rules for a place where you go to have a good time. They do not like kids. If the kids run and play, the managers yell and scream at them. I suggest go somewhere else,to ovoid all the hassle.
WE DO NOT LIKE THE MANAGERS AND WHY THE OWNERS WOULD EVER ALLOW FOR THIS IS BEYOND ME, I GUESS THEY JUST DON'T WANT ANYTHING BETTER FOT THIER PARK.....WOULD NOT RECOMEND AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG....
Hard to get in and out of..Slips are tight, lots of rules and really mean spirited people managing the place. We have never had trouble and have stayed there for the past 3 or 4 years during July 4th and several other times during the year (Rockport is our favorite destination) but we were there this weekend and were treated very rudely...we were due to leave on Sunday and checkout time is noon. at 10:30 or 11:00am or so, I guess it looked like we might not be out by noon so we were sternly reminded that checkout was at 12:00pm and that there would be a $3/hr charge if we were not out. I told them that we were running behind and despite the rudeness in his voice I would be happy to pay the late charges. at 11:59am the wife appeared and stated "we need to talk about check out time". Very rudely, with just a distain for us in her voice...the park was probably at 60% capacity and there was not anybody waiting to get in.....We will NEVER stay here again.
This park itself is clean and nice.. but.... the managers are just flat out rude!! extremely kid and pet unfriendly!!! there is alot of winter Texanns there that get treated like kings and Queens, but the ones that go during the weekend get treated like dirt!!! The managers watch every single little move you make, walk around like Nazis. just horrible... My family will NEVER come back to this park!!!
My husband and I stayed here for a month. We had a great spot up front by the water. We searched for a long time to find an RV park that had paved spots and was well managed. The Managers, Ron and Nancy are great! I've read these reviews and I have to say I am really surprised by some of them. Nancy was always so nice and really on top of things. Are there rules? Yes, there are but there are at ALL parks. We have a 13 yr. old daughter and I had no problem with the rules about her needing to be with an adult. The park is kept very clean, there is a large Rec. Hall with Pot luck on Thursdays! Just so you all know...I have very high standards, I am the General Manager for a 5 star Boutique Hotel/Bed & Breakfast Inn in the Texas Hill Country. This couple is doing a great job. We love it and plan on visiting many times.
This park is great, we have been staying there since it first opened. Over the years, there has been a couple of managers that were not very friendly. Pets are not a problem if you clean up after them. We have never had a problem about our pets or children. The current owner and management personnel are always nice, polite and very helpful.
The park manager has her favorites. There was a little boy who rode on his scooter beside the park manager while she was making her rounds. Every time she seen him she would talk and be very nice to him. He could get by with murder, he would do the same thing the other kids would do at the pool. She would tell the other kids to stop but the little boy would keep doing it and not get in trouble. A little girl was playing with a neon dive stick, throwing it in front of herself the gray haired lady went over to her and told her to stop, she could hurt someone with it. There was no one around her. We go there to relax & have fun. With the manager on your case all the time about one thing or another its impossible to relax or have fun. The worst place to take kids or to relax.
This park is supposed to be dog friendly and a Good Sam Park.. Children are treated poorly. I have 5 children two of them are colored. The park host spent a couple hours driving around trying to find who the "black" children belonged to. After 10pm my children could not ride their bikes even to the bathroom or the pier. The park host followed them and told them to get off the bikes. Also my children were kicked out of the pool for having a ball. Other kids had balls but she only kept targeting my children. I will never return to this park. Terrible! Not kid friendly.
