Miramar Resort Motel, South Padre Island

Disliked: lifted tile floor, broken shelves, smelly room, smelly sheets, and I could go on..pretty much everything about the hotel room itself was horrible! Liked: Receptionist I feel like I walked into a trap, like I could have atleast been warned about the conditions! I am very surprised this hotel is still open for business! This place needs to be closed down!!!

this place was horrible, I can't believe it is still functioning and compliant with any health inspections. This place is truly a dump. The pictures they have online are VERY misleading. Tile on floor was lifted, drawers broken and falling off, stinked, the beds were not comfortable and had stains, not to mention the bathroom bath water took forever to warm. One night was all we could handle , ice maker not working, no security, walls super thin. PEOPLE DO NOT BOOK HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT. We did, and they will never get our business again.

I will FOREVER regret not booking the Days Inn online before it sold out. It only cost 5 dollars more than Mira Mar and its a 1000 times better. I have been to dozens of hotels and motels and this is the worst one I have ever been to! The office is always CLOSED no matter what time of day you show up, and the cleaning lady does not clean your room everyday like they are supposed to. The husband and wife that owns this dump need to be ashamed of themselves. (One of the cleaning ladies is the wife). The sheets have red stains on them, they are never changed, the bathroom ceiling has mold on it, a hole in it and the floors are NEVER mopped and always sandy. The outside shower is broken and instead of fixing things, they choose to pocket as much money as they can. It doesnt have a pool and although its on the beach side, its not directly on the beach. You have to walk across a demolished lot first that has glass all over the floor, and through a bunch of bushes for 5 min before you get to the actual beach. The staff is not friendly and never there. The towels always have hair in them! Although its a good price and right next to a Dennys I will never ever come back again. I go to South Padre Island every year and have stayed at many different places but this I will never go back to even if they paid ME. My room also did not come with the kitchen pictured online, and no they do not have breakfast. And since the manager is the owner who refuses to invest a penny in this dump, they wont care about your complaints.

I am reading peoples positive reviews in horror- I can't hardly keep my mouth closed as I read how people think this place is "CLEAN"? Are yall SERIOUS? My family & I went there a few years ago & will NEVER return. There were roaches (yes- more than one everybody...)- spiders & other little creepy crawly creatures in the bathroom; the fridge & freezer uuugh- had to go purchace bleach to clean it out thoroughly; bedding had "stains" of blood (not kidding) & dark stains (dirt or poop-not sure). It was stinky, dirty & I slept on top of my beach towel all night in disbelief because the mngmnt. werent available until the next morning; they did refund some of my money so I could go find another place to continue our next 4 night stay- our family refers to this as "The vacation motel from Hell" of course its kinda funny now- but never again! I cant believe its still open for business! Unbelievable....

I stayed here with a few girlfriends in June. Basic room but they were clean.No pool but had beach access!! for the price you can't beat it on the island. I called a few other hotels and they were at least $50 more with pool but no beach access. walked to mcdonalds a block away.

Great room facing beach! CHEAP but worth it! Clean nice house keepers friendly and helpful! Hot showers! TV was broke but we didn't care! We could walk to everything! We met and made friends with other people staying there! Yes we'de go back..

the reason there was no pool last spring is bc a hurricane demolished everything except the building in the parking lot a year ago. does anyone know if it has been rebuilt yet?

Maybe the only thing that i liked that it was clean and close to the beach not as close as you see in the pictures. I went there mostly for the location and good sized pool and great place to barbecue ......their wasn't any pool, the picture that they have in a website was old they didn't even say sorry for that. We were mostly all disapointed we wanted to barbecue and be enjoying the pool. (Service ......what service...?)Good price i guess but i would prefer pay just a little bit more for a view a pool and service.......we were close to the beach but the rooms don't face the beach . So much for a view Huh....

Ok the hotel may not be as great and as luxurious but it has beach access, a pool, and extremely close to many shopping places and such like dennis is right infront, no need to cross the street. The room did smell moldy, and looked old, but its a great price if you want to just visit the island. When i stayed there with my family, I locked the keys inside the room... security guard was there to help! great service. and it was like 1 in the morning. Its a homie place and it doesn't feel like "omg don't touch that or you'll break it!" like in luxurious hotels. If you don't have much money to spend at the island, don't go, if you don't want to spend too much stay here (with beach acces) or rent a cheap room in a motel 8 or motel 6(no beach access).

The rooms smelled disgusting.. like urine and other odors that are too inappropriate to mention. I couldn't get over the odor.. my family and I tried our best to stay out of the room as much as possible! As cheap as this hotel is--it is NOT worth the money. The beds were gross, the floors were dirty, everything was.. disgusting.
