Diver-Friendly Bayside Resort
By Linda, 09/26/09
A laid-back resort in the very laid-back Florida Keys. Diving is relaxed and the boat leaves right from the resort in the morning, afternoon and for night dives. Friendly, helpful crew on Amoray Diver with a focus on both safety and diver enjoyment of reefs and wrecks. Not the Hilton, but our room was clean and nicely furnished. The mini kitchen with stove, microwave, coffe-maker and refrigerator was stocked with all the kitchen neccessities for breakfast, lunch and light dinners. Resort is only about 2 miles from a large super-market, so we were able to have breakfast, lunch, and several dinners in our room. Another shopping center only a mile or so south has great Asian food at. The Thai cuisine was especially good. We found the resort to be a great value and the Keys are truly the American Caribbean that you can drive to!

My stay @ Amoray Dive resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/09
My daughter and I stayed @ Amoray dive resort from August 10,2009 through 14th. The rooms are all refurbished, we stayed in 9H. Very clean, beds large comfortable, clean sheets & towels every day, bathrooms clean well lit. Overall the room was EXCELLENT as well as the resort & staff. The dive boat was spacious, well stocked & the crew was amazing! Jacod the Divemaster on the boat coulnd't have been more helpful. WE had an excellent dive to molasses reef & elbow reef. It was totally worth the money we had a blast Overall I give Amoray dive resort 5 STARS!!!! We will be back for a night dive. Thank you Amoray dive resort for a wonderful dive experience!!!!!

Can't wait for a return trip!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/09
After all the bad reviews i had read about this place we were a little scared of what we would find , Once we arrived all fears were calmed . The Resort is a very nice place , rooms are well maintained and clean , grounds keepers kept the outside neat and tidy as well . But dont expect a "Hyatt" this place is not a high end hotel with expensive amenities , if your a diver looking for location close to the dive boat this place can't be beat (our room was less than 50' from the dive boat). There is no hotel restaurant or bar on site but there are quite a few very good places close by. The dive staff is very Professional and accomadating to your needs , we didnt use their rental gear but from what i saw(Scubapro) it was well maintained and cleaned after every trip (the user is responsible for cleaning the gear they use) . Jacob "Tennessee" , Lindsay , Andrew , Capt Dan , and Capt Joe were great , most informative dive briefings ive heard and always put us in the best spots .

Had a nice time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/09
The staff is incredibly nice and friendly. It is an older complex, upkeep is a challenge. Not the Hilton. We had a very nice time, the rooms were clean, it was very quiet. We could go sit down by the ocean or relax by the pool. A couple of eating places within walking distance. I liked the non commercial atmosphere

Pleasant surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/08
The room was a bargain and really nice. Ok, furniture not new but clean! The view from the room was fantastic. Convenient parking. I'd go back for sure.

DIVERS BEWARE - Health Hazard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/07
We stayed for 2 nights and went on a dive trip. When we picked up our rental gear it looked quite good from the outside, however when we returned it we noticed that they don't clean it whatsoever. They put it back in the shelves just as we handed it to them. They didn't even check if we had a least dipped it into the water bin outside (we did, but the water in there didn't look too good either). My friend and I were disgusted, but it obviously was too late to change plans, we had already had these unsanitary wetsuites on our bodies and regulators in our mouths. As if that wasn't bad enough it got worse. By the end of the day (we went on a morning trip) I felt some tingling in my face close to my mouth and saw a red spot . Within 2 days it had swollen up to the point where the left side of my lower face was deformed and the pain was excruciating. To make a long story short I saw my doctor who told me that I had a full blown infection most likely coming form the regulator. I had to go on Antibiotics and might need to have it cut open, if it doesn

Never Ever Go Back!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/06
We arrived on June 21,2006 @ 12:00P.M. Then it began!, we were asked to PAY IN FULL for our stay before they would give us the key to our Triggerfish Apartment. When I opened the door I could have cried. It was filthy, and it smelled like MILDEW, there was crumbs of food on the tile floor, there was 2 chairs at this table that could only fit 2 people mind you we were 6 so I guess we could have sat on the floor or on the two trundle beds that were in the so called living room. The bathrooms were so dirty that we would have had to wear flip flops before we walked in there. My husband said this is what they call a RESORT!!!!.We were so disappointed we just sat there. Then it came, a SMELL that you could have GAGGED! We walked outside to see what it was only to find a person with a BACKHOE digging a 10 foot wide by 4 foot deep trench where the SEWER OR SEPTIC TANK was that had broke, mind you this was right outside our apartment(some apartment) door! All of us started to get sick to our stomachs. I then went back into our apartment to look for a phone book of course there was none in our Apartment at the Resort so I went to the front desk to borrow one. I went back to the room and called the Chamber of Commerce and asked them for help, they gave me a list of hotels / Resorts to call to see if they had any rooms for the 4 nights we needed. I had no luck as we all sat there the SMELL just kept getting worse. My husband then said get in the car and we will drive to every place there is to find another room for all of us to stay in. Finally we found a BEAUTIFUL place that was even less money per night that we had booked at this so called RESORT! We then went back to Amy Slates to check out due to the UNSANITARY AND UNHEALTHY CONDITION we were in to have them at the front desk tell me that there was NO REFUNDS! At that time my husband got a little loud and said that this was a health hazard that this trench with human waste floating in it was not what we wanted to SMELL or SEE on our vacation nor did we want to pay for it. I just wanted everyone to know that we had this (BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, RESORT KEY) YEAH RIGHT!!! for a TOTAL OF 5 HOURS and they charged me $210.00 for the wonderful time we had there, so WATCH OUT FOR THIS PLACE!!!!!

Thanks but no THanks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/06
The place is VERY convenient! Nice units, the one we stayed in was like a mini apartment with kitchen and everything - which allowed us to cook our own seafood and enhance the diving experience! They have their own boat, and practically everything you'll need to dive you'll find there. Nice, quiet. Unfortunately, they don't bring that B&B feeling to the table - which would go in hand with their facilities. Their diving crew was nice, but the office people couldn't really care less. I just called to go one more time, because I thought all of the above would weigh more, but got one of their friendly staff on the line again. I think Ill take my chances with the holiday Inn.

we will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/05
My husband and I were going to stay there about a month ago. We walked into our room and turned around and left. They promised us it would not smell like smoke and it did. They told us we would have a small refridgerator; it was maybe an 18 in. cube. Also, they could not even tell us if the dive site we were going to in the morning would be greater than what we are certified to or not. The people working that day were extremely rude. I hope I never even have to see that place again. I would not recommend it to anyone and I certainly will not be going back.
