Perfect setting for a wedding!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/11
Thanks in part to both the excellent customer service (manager Barry and front desk agent Kevin), and the perfect sunset location, we had the wedding ceremony of our dreams. The Blackfin's sunset point extends further into the gulf than most others in the area, which provides breathtaking views of the sun setting into the water. The colors are magnificient. I certainly reccomend anyone thinking of arranging a sunset wedding in the Keys to check out the location that the Blackfin resort has to offer. That and its excellent customer service make it second to none!

Great place - feels like you've gone back to 1959.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/12/09
My family and I have stayed at Blackfin Resort twice and had a great time. People are very friendly, it is very clean, and it is VERY boater-friendly.There is a pool, small beach, boat ramp, charcoal grills and plenty of deck chairs. You can see lobsters, parrot fish, barracudas, manatees, and many other types of marine life during the day and night (there are underwater lights). Blackfin Resort is not a glitzy, hyped-up touristy place. It's a very relaxed, "step-back in time" sort of place. My family has lived in Florida for many generations, and I just can't take much of the tourist hype. This resort is superb. However, if you want to do the tourist thing, Blackfin's location is perfect - about 50 miles to Key West and about 50 miles to Key Largo. I highly recommend this resort to boaters, couples looking for a getaway, and families. The only people that may not like it are those looking for a fast, wild and crazy time or those who desire brand-new accomodations. Many of us enjoy 1950s era peach and black tile in our showers.

Vintage Florida Vacationing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/07
The facilities appear to have been built in the 50s or 60s but are suprizingly well cared for. The rooms, grounds and inground pool were all emaculately clean and well serviced. There is a boat ramp and slips for your boat as well as convienent parking for vehicles w/ trailers. We enjoyed the restaurant and outdoor lounge as well. Whether by design or accident the entire grounds to the facility are consumer friendly. I need look no further for accomodations as staying @ the Blackfin allows me to direct vacation $ to having a good time rather than wasting it on more expensive facilities. /Enjoy!!!

MAKE OVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/29/06
overall its pretty good, but some fo the rooms could do with a little make over, the last time i was there the curtains would not close all the way. some rooms only have cold air and no heat. THANK YOU P.S. YOU ALL DO NOT NEED PETS AT A MOTEL BECAUSE OF FLEAS AND LOSING HAIR ON BEDSPREADS.
