Great place - feels like you've gone back to 1959.

My family and I have stayed at Blackfin Resort twice and had a great time. People are very friendly, it is very clean, and it is VERY boater-friendly.There is a pool, small beach, boat ramp, charcoal grills and plenty of deck chairs. You can see lobsters, parrot fish, barracudas, manatees, and many other types of marine life during the day and night (there are underwater lights).
Blackfin Resort is not a glitzy, hyped-up touristy place. It's a very relaxed, "step-back in time" sort of place. My family has lived in Florida for many generations, and I just can't take much of the tourist hype. This resort is superb. However, if you want to do the tourist thing, Blackfin's location is perfect - about 50 miles to Key West and about 50 miles to Key Largo.
I highly recommend this resort to boaters, couples looking for a getaway, and families. The only people that may not like it are those looking for a fast, wild and crazy time or those who desire brand-new accomodations. Many of us enjoy 1950s era peach and black tile in our showers.
