Seashell Beach Resort, Marathon

this place needs some tlc-needs fresh paint in the room and someone who knows how to clean-inside of the bathroom cupboard was filthy and shower curtian had mold growing on it-the room needs a good bleaching

The place had plenty of coconut trees; beautiful. The water was shallow but nice. Great for kids, as you could wade for quite some time without getting deep. Boater: You would have to moor out deeper as it was shallow but not bad. Locationwise; we were only about a mile from the island of Marathon, Proper. That was nice. No Noise. Close enough to civilization but not too close. Every day, if needed, the maids would sweep, make your bed, put fresh towels in your bathroom. I recall Maria. Very sweet and accomodating. Of course, we tipped. Probably not enough of one, but I appreciated it, just the same. Overall, a great spot. The manager, Bea, and her husband make you feel more than welcome. I booked it from INTERNET for 4 nights. from the fews pictures we saw on the WEB it looked nice "a very RELAXING resort". But when we arrived...too much disappointement . The "little appartement" was really little, the bed was unconfortable, the room was very, very old, with electricity cables coming out from the prises. Forniture was poor, old and broken. And the noise...oh boy...too much noise from the Overseas Highway, we couldn't sleep that night! So we left the resort the morning after. We'll NEVER NEVER come back there.

This resort is one of my families favorites! The location is great, right in between Key Largo and Key West. Now that it is under new ownership, they have redone the entire resort. The rooms are clean and very spacious and I think the staff would have done anything to accomidate us. My husband loved the perks that went along with the resort - discount on a deep sea fishing trip! We highly recommend this resort. Cold in Michigan
