Stayed at the Rixos for a week (spouse was at a convention) -- the air conditioning didn't work most of the time, did not have a single good night's sleep. Staff made up excuses, sent techs to the room who fiddled with the thermostat, gave me contradictory instructions on how to set the temperature (none of them worked).
The staff wanted to help, but I think management told them to lie about the a/c.
Long story short -- my room was dreadfully hot, which negated the other pluses.
Also, the drink prices are high ($8.50 for a glass of wine).
hotel seems to be old and not renovated; from the begining, the bellboy destroied my lagage. at reception, people not frendly, and seems to not understand english. a bad room, with old furniture, and, surprise, with partial sea view; of course, my reservation was for full sea view. food is of a low qulity, with sintetic juice and unfresh vegetables. it was necesary to spend about 10 to 20 minutes in the morning for some eggs, because there were only two cookers. in the afternoon there were a lot of noise produced by the housekeepers. in just few words : stay away from lares park antalya.
We found the staff, particularly the front desk, unhelpful. Most of them appeared to be not very happy to work there. When we asked a question about making dinner reservations the first night, the reception desk was rude.
We weren't given an overview of the resort so we didn't realize until we happened to notice it, that pancakes and omelets were being made in a room adjacent to the buffet. That means we were left to eat from the buffet only, which was huge, but the quality of the food could be compared to a school cafeteria. The beach chair cushions were dirty, and there was no staff to assist in finding a chair. If you didn't get out in time, nobody cared. The beautiful swimming pool was freezing, as if it was still being chilled, so only a few young children and brave adults dared go in. Needless to say, this resort needs to be revamped. It is tired, and we were very tired of it by the time we left.
Our room was marginally comfortable, but the decor was brown, with little to make it seem cheerful. But, aside from the staff, our biggest complaint
I thought this hotel was v good value for money all inc free safe, beach towels, genuine coca cola and fanta/sprite.
In pictures the hotel appears to be in the middle of nowhere but it is actually very close on one side to the Titanic, then the Miracle.
The hotel was a lovely building with the basement containing a good quality cheap hairdressers, a 3 lane bowling alley which was 5 euros per person; a smallish gym but nobody seemed to use it - had mainly weights and a couple of running machines which was free. The room was a 3 bed and nice and spacious - we had to change our room as it was on the side facing the Titanic which played booming music till 12am but reception moved us no problem. Reception staff spoke good english and were always very polite. However, restaurant staff spoke v little english and the majority looked constantly majorly peeved off - the worst one being the chef at the beach hut.
The food was a major let down and I've had better at 3star in Salou. This is probably because the hotel caters for Russians & Turks - don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible but consisted mainly of salads and stewed meats in gravy. There is an inconspicuous side door just as you go into the restaurant which we didn't notice until about day 5 and it leads you to an outside barbecue type area where the chef is frying chicken - and in the morning fried eggs. There were no special chef nights like we've had in lower standard hotels but we never went hungry. There is a nice bar besides the pool called Wanda bar - the staff there were nice; there is also another cafe called Moonflower and it had a lovely ambience about it - big fluffy cushions and they made lovely expressos - there was also a tiny patisserie and the cakes looked mouthwatering but.....no fresh cream - just custardy foreign stuff and none of them tasted like they'd been made with sugar so all in all a let down. About a 2min walk from the pool to the beach the little cafe there was nice - it had only plain cheese rolls; hotdogs which were ok and lovely icecream. Now why there wasn't an icecream person convenient to the pool i've no idea as that's where all the kids were - i walked back a few times with icecreams for the kids but in 47degrees there was more on my hand than the cone!
The pool was the best i've ever seen - it's absolutely huge and the photos don't do it justice. Due to the size there were plenty of sunbeds to go round but if you had a favourite spec it was advisable to get your towel on it! In the 2wks i was there i never saw any bad behaviour by any kids - all seemed nice and well behaved...there was a couple of boisterous lads but my kids tried to steer clear of them.
Outside the hotel which is on a bit of a hill if you take a 5min walk you come to a few souvenier shops a chemist, speedbank & taxi rank.
all in all i enjoyed my holiday but would say 2 weeks is too long. A week is plenty unless you can stand 2wks round the pool. Oh yes, entertainment at night was ok but really cheesy ie, Mr Larespark, Mr & Mrs; there were a couple of nights they had acrobatics on and they were very good. Also follwing that you go to the Wanda bar for live music till 2am - and this was also very good. I would recommend this hotel for 1 week but i won't go back myself.
my family and i had a great time in your hotel ,we have visited other countries like dubi and cyprus and thiland ,indonasia and.... but we like your hotel the most.
we cant really wait to go back there again.
i hope we see you soon.
