\"Too Many Complaints (by Us),\" and Threw Us Out!
LQ main website showed indoor pool, cable, coffee, etc. in-room. Called days before to hotel confirmed info. Arrived for stay due to home repairs with couple cats and a 2 yr old. Told no pool. Asked for comp time in pool another day (live in area) - msg for mgr. Upacked. No cable... same channels we have at home (no cable there). Reported. 2 yr old found pill on floor and put in his mouth/got it out. Reported not clean/should address with hkeeping. Remained totally calm entire time.
Owner/mgr called and told me I was watching cable. Not. I suggested discount or service call. Told me I should have known about the pool, but no way I could have w/out going to his personal site vs. LQ main site/call to hotel days before. Told me the room was clean and that pill was mine/lying. Not! He called the police on me for having "pills" in the room. Told him, "Fine, because it was there when I got there - his pills." Told to leave at 10PM!!! Too many complaints he said. Didn't want me as a customer.
Police came, heard, and said they were staying for our benefit and protection because they understood we're good, solid, respectable people... understood the crazy situation forced upon us.
Called today (from a Hampton Inn minus the pets/elsewhere today) LQ HQ and reported him. Will never stay at a LQ again as a result, even if they are owned and operated by franchisees. Reputation of the entire chain, to me, is damaged, and unfortunately that was my first experience with a LQ.
