Central, but unclean

We were in Berlin in Mrch 2006, and we needed a cheap place to spend 5 days, so we booked Ansbacher Hotel. The Hotel is situated just by the big Kürfürstendamm street, with LOTS of shops. So there's nothing to say about the location. However, the staff wasn't very friendly. I had my dad call the hotel, because my cell didn't work, and he had called two times, and as my friends and I were sightseeing, he had just been transferred back to the front desk when no one picked up the phone in my room. As I entered the hotel, the lady behind the desk looked terrified at me, as if I interrupted her very private phone call. And then she said: "Please, please, call your father, cause he has called here too many times. Please, please...", as if he had bothered her.
Anyway, there is no toilet in the rooms, only two beds, a sink, a table and one chair. In the cabinet above the sink, I found a glass for someone's tooth brush, with drewl and tooth paste in it.. Gross.
Well, if you're on a budget, this hotel is ok, but otherwise; stay clear.
