Security at the River Rock Theater Ruined the Show
By First L, 08/10/08
Anyine thinking of going to the River Rock to see a show should SERIOUSLY think again. Just went to see Donna Summer there tonight and the security guards were a total pain in the ass - CONSTANTLY shouting at people for standing up - forcibly manhandling people back to their seat who were dancing. They TOTALLY ruined a great show - a darned shame and I will NEVER give that place another dime of my money

Nothing too memorable
By Matthew, 04/08/08
This was the first time I have stayed at the River Rock. The rooms were very nice and very clean, I have absolutely no complaints about the room....except maybe those stupid drink sensors in the mini-bar....what a ridiculous idea. Free high-speed internet. The beds are amazingly comfortable and how quiet it is was really surprising. I have been to Vegas roughly 30 times and I have yet to stay anywhere where it can be catagorized as quiet...same with Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Overall, I would say that this resort is quite impressive looking. Not much else. There was only one elevator working on my side of the hotel, which was kind of a pain. Luckily, I was there during the week, so there wasn't too much traffic. The front desk staff were very nice and greeted me every time that I passed by. The waitstaff in the restaurant were.....well, I don't really know, they didn't say much of anything at all. Not too good at making money I guess. Luckily, I had some serious curling action going on on all the TVs. I won't lie, as corny as curling is, you get into it. Not much going on outside the resort without taking a taxi. The doormen are quite good, zero complaints. There is construction going on outside the front door (March 2008) that looked like it had a long way to go, so if you are in the mood for a room with a view...make sure you are facing the water. Overall, I would call this place average. The thing that impressed me the most were the pictures I saw before I went. Lovely area though. *Side note: Make sure to go to the KEG Restaurant, it is about a 10 minute drive from the River Rock. Good stuff, trust me.

"Home Away from Home"
By BeBe, 01/04/08
This is our second time that we stayed at The Rock. We are only 10 minutes away from River Rock Casino Resort, it feels like we are far way from home. We spent Christmas and Boxing Day just relaxing after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Today I booked a room for my son and his girlfriend birthday just to have a place to entertain their friends on this special day. I am looking forward to having our HS reunion at The Rock in the future. Everything is here from entertainment, dining, shopping and relaxation. I feel that I am living in a condominium and not in a hotel. Love the ambiance and the friendly staff. I definitely recommends River Rock Casino Resort. The pride of Richmnond,BC Canada. Be aware with this resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/07
We make our reservation last Christmas. To make our long story short, I am just going to highlight my terrible experience: 1. The resort loaded the refrigerater in the room with baverages. Under each baverage bottle has a sensor. If you touch any of these bottle, they will charge it to your room bill. If you didn't carefully check your room bill, you will pay for any baverage you touch but not consumed. 2. We made two reservations, one before we go to Whistler and one after. We check in and pay for the first one, but then we decided to stay the rest of our trip at Whistler. So, we cancel our second reservation before we checked out the first time. I confirmed with the front desk everything is OK and no penalty. I even got a cancel confirmation print out from the front desk. Well, after I came back from my trip, I found a second charge to visa above and beyond my charge to my first visit. I called them and talked to a front desk manager, he said he will look into that. I gave him all the information he need. Two weeks went by and not response. I called again and talked to the same front desk manager. He said he had checked with their accounting department and found it's a problem with their reservation department. He said the reservation department is handle by a subcontract company. He told me he will have their accounting department to fix the problem. Again two weeks went by, nothing happen. So, I sent an email to the manager and politely asked him how is the progress. After two to three email to him, he finally response back and said the resort will credit the charge back to my credit card. Well, nothing happen after that email response. I ended up have to call my credit card company to dispute the charges and have them remove from my statement. I still keep the email from the resort manager. I wish I can show it here, but the message sent to my company email and I am at home writing this review. If anyone want to see that message, I am more than happy to send it to you. 3. Another issue, the resort gives you two lunch coupons for each day of stay. Well, all the restaurant which will take these coupon are inside the casino. And they will not allow anyone under 18 go inside the casino. Guess what, we ended up have to order all our food in a doggie bag and eat it in the lobby on a small coffee table. Be careful with this resort and definitely not a place for kids.

kids loved the pool!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/07
I liked the fitness center, all the equipment you need. The pool and hot tub were very cool with the tropical theme. The rooms were spacious. My only complaint would be is there is not a bathtub in every room. You can either have a deck or a tub, but not both.

Good place to stay
By JimW, 03/05/07
Very nice hotel the staff is very nice too. The rooms are really nice as well. The only thing they really need to do is have wireless internet for the business traveler like me. Buffet could be a little better but for the price still good. Friday nights on a lot of roads in Richmond can be hectic, and watch out for the local drivers too. They can drive very loosy goosy. Stayed here about 6 or 7 times and will be back again the 16th of March.

Dining experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
Don't ever order a steak dish in their restaurant. My wife ordered a rib-eye steak, mediuum rare, for dinner. It was not a rib-eye at all but some poor cut of meat. I asked the waiter to return it to the kitchen. He refused and said that it was a rib-eye steak. I paid top dollars to eat there but the dishes were below expectations. I would even venture to say that poor meat cuts were served.
