Best Hotel in Southern Seoul
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/06
My fiancee and I stayed at the Park Hyatt in June, 2006. The hotel was about one year old then, but most people still don't know about it. It's not a famous hotel in Seoul like the top hotels listed on Yahoo Travel, but it's certainly a 5-star experience and a good location for business travellers or anyone who has to wake up the next morning to be in the Gangnam district of Seoul. The Park Hyatt is close to COEX and the COEX InterContinental Hotel, which is a little older, famous, and also good. Park Hyatt service is professional, and the rooms are the best I've seen--especially because they're so new, clean and modern. Room bathrooms are unusually nice, with a deep tub, TV, luxurious shower, and "modern natural" design featuring natural stone and wood. Each room also has a new LCD/plasma TV and the things you'd expect in a 5-star hotel. There is a medium-size fitness room and pool with friendly staff, an over-priced snack lounge, a high-quality restaurant with a European chef, and at least one bar (which we didn't visit). The only drawback were that the room views are poor (they look out over a semi-industrial neighborhood) and the hotel is a little hard to find, with poor signage--at least in our opinion. The taxi driver didn't know where its entrance was and we had to look around on the street for about five minutes to find it (From the street, the Park Hyatt looks like an office building, not a hotel).
