Not for the budget Minded

Laura, the front desk clerk, greeted us with a smile and answered our questions about internet usage (free, in each room with a plug in located under the top of the desk/table) and volunteered a patch cord if we didnt have one. When asked about a good place to eat dinner she mentioned Memories which she said had excellent food and was close by.
The lobby was spacious and clean. The only entry to each room was via a main hall. The room had 2 queen-sized beds, a reading chair, a secretary chair at the desk with large area for a laptop. The room was neat and clean and odor free. We had asked for a non-smoking room and there was no smell of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water and a strong spray. The air conditioner was quiet and worked efficiently. The only noise that we heard was from a nearby railroad where each train that passed by blew its whistle four times (at each railroad crossing I assume). The beds were comfortable and we slept well.
The continental breakfast, which was served beginning at 6:30am, was more than ample.
As far as the recommended restaurant Memories it was outstanding. The place was filled with many locals, the food was excellent and reasonably priced and since it was a Saturday night the restaurant had entertainment in the form of a very good singer.
We did feel that the price $97.00(taxes included) was a bit much since there was neither a swimming pool or spa or any other special amenities.
For those who are not on a very limited budget, we highly recommend this motel for anyone stopping in Etowah, Tennessee
