Anchorage Downtown Hotel, Anchorage

What a lovely small family type hotel. Just in the best location, downtown but on a side street without street noise. We were blown away by the service we received from being picked upat the airport in a Merceeds to our lovely room. We were here for several days and enjoyed each one. The owner went out of her way to guide us to the best restaurants, shopping and sights. Our room was very large with 2 king beds. It had a great view of the mountains and downtown. It had everything you could want in a hotel room and a lot more than some of the large chains we have stayed in. We had morning coffee and muffins with the owners and other guest each day. The lobby is more like a living room where many guest stay to pass the time of day and chat. The owner always keeps fresh coffee and tea available for all. We enjoyed the location, walking distance to everything in the downtown area no rental car needed. When we called the hotel for reservations the owner advised us not to get a car for our entire stay just to get one on the one day we wanted to go out of town, he was right or else we would be paying for a car to set in a parking lot, what great service. The hotel, though a little older than some is abosutley spotless, clean as a pin. We travel a lot and have stayed in amy hotels, this one is as good or better than any we have stayed in, even the mega chain hotels. Highly recommend to everyone. Note: call the hotel direct and get the best rate and the best advise of any hotel in Anchorage.

We liked everthing about the hotel from the location to the excellent service we received.

Loved the floor plan where our rooms were shut off from the rest of the hotel for privacy. Best floor plan for any hotel we have ever seen. The rooms were wonderful, the owners are great, This Hotel is more B&B than hotel. Great Location. Loved every moment of our stay.

We stay at The Anchorage Downtown Hotel when we are in Anchorage (once a month) it is the best small hotel in Anchorage. Wedon't need a hotel restaurant or bar so it fits us. It is 4 blocks to the center of town and many restaurants, shopping, etc. It is across the street from a city park, on the bus line to the airport, and in a very quite area. The rooms are on the small size but more than enough space. The rooms are super clean, with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. If you want a very quite hotel this is the one.

Great Location, greatprice, most wonderful owners. We booked the entire hotel for 2 weeks foa wedding and family get together.We paid 1/2 of what the hotel down the street wanted. Everything was wonderful. The owners went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. They evel lent us a car, Mercedes, at no charge. We were extremly please with out stay here. Recommend to everyone.

Had to seek medical advice at Providence Hospital due to bed bugs. Find someplace else to stay!!Noisey neighborhood, lots of homeless folks loitering.Many better places to stay!

We were here for a week for a family get together. We loved the fact that the hotel is set up with small 4 room wings that can be closed off from the others so we could open the doors to our 4 rooms and vist back and forth without disturbing the other guest. We had never seen a hotel set up this way and it is excelent.The hotel is so quite. The rooms were excwelent and the service topnotch. We will be back the next time we are in Anchorage.

It was such apleasure to be in a hotel where you could not hear doors or other guest, what a nice place.

Terrible place to stay. Was awake all night due to the "Neighbors" Don't waste your time and $$$$ not worth it. Spend the extra money and stay someplace else
