Ledges By The Bay, Rockport

This great little place was awesome. The view of the bay was wonderful, clean rooms, wonderful, in-room coffee, private balcony with view, and best of all a great price. Nothing else even came close when we checked. The staff was wonderful and very helpful about everything. If we needed something, they found it and gave it to us! You can go anywhere along the mid-coast of Maine from this location...highly reccommend Acadia National Park which was breathtaking. We will definately go again!

We stayed at Ledges By The Bay as it was a good half-way point between Portland and our evantual destination of Bar Harbor. Had we realized how charming this location was, we would have stayed more than a day. The view from our balcony was breathtaking (especially the morning sunrise). The breakfast was exceptional thanks to the homemade scones. We were sorry we had to leave after only the nights stay but we will return. The Ledges By The Bay should be greatly considered if in the Rockland area.

We had a king size bed in a very large room that was very new inside and super clean. Larger bathroom with 2 sinks! refrig! deck with a view of the bay! Great food in nearby camden maine.

Yar. This place isn't fancy but it is modern and clean. Clean enough for young families who want a clean place for their babies. It is not weird or cheesy. The keepers are normal folks. It has just regular rooms but they are well kept. The view is of Clam Cove and there is direct sun to keep you all happy. Close to all the sights around Rockland, Rockport, Camden. They have a pool but it was 45 degrees F when we visited. Oh well. If you go there off season it is very very relaxing. Yar.

This property is a classic Maine motel located in Rockport, ME. It sits adjacent to a State scenic overlook and visitor rest area with water views. The property is nestled at the foot of a small cove on several oceanfront acres with a large lawn that gradually slopes down to the water. The property has a good deal of shore frontage with access so you can wander about the shoreline. The property was recently updated in 2000. There are three separate buildings. The majority of the rooms are ocean view which feature contemporary styling with two queen beds, two double beds, or a single king, remote control cable TV, high-speed cable internet access, wireless internet access points, and individual heat and air conditioning. Ocean view rooms offer sliding glass doors with private balconies overlooking the bay. There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool with views of the bay as well. We stayed here on two ocassions and found our rooms to be very clean. The location is great. The motel is centrally located to the nearby Maine communities of Camden, Rockport, and Rockland which are all just a stones throw away by car. The rates are extremely affordable for oceanfront accommodations and the owners are very pleasant. I highly recommend this property especially if you are looking for affordable lodging on the water and do not need a lot of amenities. Give this place a try and you will be going back again.

My wife and I have stayed at the Ledges a few times times over the last several years and we have always found the rooms clean and all the staff happy to help and very friendly. The Ledges has all the amenities you would want in a budget class motel without feeling like you are missing out on something. The rooms are very clean, The rooms we have stayed in have always had two queen beds, a desk and chair, table, a nice sized bathroom, separate room vanity, heat and air, phone, cable tv, a large minifridge and high speed WiFi access at no extra cost. The motel has outside entrances (with an upper balcony in the two story building). This motel has incredible panoramic views of Penobscot Bay. If you are looking for waterfront lodging at affordable rates, this motel is your best choice. From my travels in the MidCoast Maine area, no other property is as affordably priced for oceanfront accommodations. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for reasonable rates for lodging in the Camden Maine area.

This is a wonderful little motel located in the coastal town of Rockport. This motel has a great location as it is situated on a hill overlooking Penobscot Bay. The motel sits on 9 oceanfront acres that make up part of the shore line of a small cove. There is a large lawn which abuts the shore line so it is possible to walk along the shore if you so desire. We had a room with a king bed. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Our room had the most spectacular views of the ocean and the surrounding bay. Our impression is that this property does not cater to the high-end or upscale traveler in the sense that there are not a lot of high end amenities on the property. For example. there is no restaurant or indoor pool or spa or workout facilities on the property. However, if you like hiking or walking, the access to the shorefront provides a great deal of physical activity that is a lot more interesting then standing on a treadmill. For the more recreational or active vacationer, this is a great spot to do some exploring along the Maine coast. Finally, we found this motel's location to be very convenient for us. This motel is located in Glen Cove between Rockland and Camden so everything is very close and convenient especially if you plan on doing some sightseeing in the area. In my opinion, staying directly in Camden and/or Rockland is much more expensive and the accommodations are typically not as nice. The exception might be a higher end resort such as the Samoset but you will typically pay twice as much for staying at a property like that compared to the Ledges By The Bay. If you do not need upscale accommodations, but are looking for affordable, clean and comfortable lodging with beautiful water views, then we recommend staying here.

We really had a great stay here. The motel was in a quiet neighborhood, just a quick drive to Rockport, Rockland or the harbor in Camden. The staff was very accommodating. The motel is quaint but very clean and comfortable. We booked online for two nights. I highly recommend staying here because it is very reasonable for oceanfront lodging. There is a continental breakfast in summer and free parking. Our room had the most spectacular views of the ocean and the surrounding islands. If you do not need upscale accommodations, but are looking for affordable, clean and comfortable lodging with beautiful water views, then stay at the Ledges By The Bay. It's a very nice place.

I have nothing but high praise for this small motel located in Rockport, Maine. I have been to this area about six times in the past two years. Previously, I had stayed on the oceanfront, at other nearby properties. However, The Ledges offers something very special that is hard to find - owners who value their customers. The people at the Ledges were extremely helpful and very accommodating. At the other properties that I have stayed, I have had several rude customer experiences on a number of different occasions which has made me think that the other properties are much less personal in their approach and are more likely to treat me like a number instead of a real customer of their business. At the Ledges, there is much more personal attention. The property is a quiet and quaint. The motel sits on a hillside with a gorgeous panoramic view of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding islands. We had a room with two queen beds. The beds in the room were comfortable. There was an additional seating area with a desk, and chairs. There was a large refrigerator, high-speed internet access and a tv in the room. The balcony had a sliding glass door with a spectacular view of the bay. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of counter space and a tub-shower combo. We paid $89/night through an internet special we found online by searching on Google with the key phrase "Camden Maine Lodging". That was a really competitive rate given the fact that we stayed in high season (late summer) and that my room although not as fancy as the Samoset Resort's was half the price. In my opinion, you will be hard pressed to find more affordable oceanfront accommodations in the area. Honestly, I cannot think of a better value in the Camden/Rockport area for waterfront lodging.

We stayed here for two days on the way back from Bar Harbor ME. We were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and the quality of the room for the price. We had a second floor room with 1 King bed overlooking the bay where we watched the sailboats and sunset from our private balcony. This is an excellent base for the midcoast Maine area (Camden, Rockport and Rockland are all nearby) which we did our best to see in the short period of time we had on our visit here. The motel has direct ocean frontage which provided a convenient and enjoyable walk along the shore. In terms of our accommodations, we found our room was exceptionally clean and was much larger than we had anticipated given the price. The room we had was approximately 24' x 18' and had a large refridgerator and second vanity. The bathroom was spotless and all the bedding, towels and linens were all clean and fresh. The balcony view overlooking the bay was quite spectacular. We paid about $129 in season which we thought was very reasonable given the location, date and accommodations. This is not the newest or most fancy lodging property in the area, but for the money we thought it was very reasonable because it was very nice, quiet, clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this motel.
