Pelican Motel, Niagara Falls

Me and my family will regret staying here for as long as we live! Yes the place is dirt cheap but not worth the savings at all! The first (and last) night that we stayed here we found out that the place is INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!!!! The whole family woke up to find blood stains from bed bugs all over the beds and the bed bugs still crawling around!!!! Never in my life will I stay at Pelican Motel again!!!!!!!

Tons of Mildew/Mold on the Shower Curtain!! And Somebody Else's Hair Left in the Shower!! Gross! Filthy! Nasty! Do Not Stay Here!! Any Good Reviews of this Hotel are Obviously Fake!!

This was the most disgusting seedy dive I've ever, ever been at. We booked last minute on a holiday weekend, there were no other rooms available but here. The rooms were filthy, there were holes in the walls, the place reeked like smoke, no electric outlets in the bathroom, the door would not lock, no washcloths, "newly renovated" is a flat out lie! The free "continental breakfast" was actually across the street at the Caravan Motel, and when we drove over there it consisted of a few donuts and cereal bars and a coffee pot in the "office" of that motel, with no where to sit to eat! The stay here has got to be the excruciatingly worst night I have ever stayed at a hotel, it was so nasty, I get nauseous shivers even now thinking about it! Do not stay here, you will regret it! P.S. I wouldn't even rate this hotel "one star"!!!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, and I enjoyed the fact that it was right around the corner from Fashion outlet shopping mall, which made shopping for me that much easier. I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know going to Niagara Falls. The room had an upscale setup but at the same time kept it simple with netural colors that give it that relaxing feeling. I truly enjoyed my stay and will be back.

Check-in was quick and easy, taking about 2 minutes total. I had booked the wrong night by accident (the night before) but the hotel clerk said "No problem" and switched me to the current night. The room was clean, the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. I had said I wanted a rollaway bed and one was brought up immediately. Bathroom was small, but shower was large and very nice. Check out took less than 1 minute. All in all, wonderful and comfortable stay at a great value.

Ok, I think the owner put up those other posts on here. This place is the worst hotel I ever stayed at in my life. First off, We get to the hotel around 2pm, check in time. No one was in the office. After standing around for 15 minutes, the owner shows up says he was on lunch. Ok GREAT, give me my room. We go inside to check in, and he says your Orbitz and you stay across the street at the Caravan Motel. Now I'm thinking to myself, ok whatever. We fight traffic ti get across the street, which is insane, but we made it. We check in and we get to stay in room # 4. The place is musty, dirty, the maid look like she is on crack. no towels, no toilet paper. Walked and had to get my own towels and TP. The bed spreads were gross, no big deal though...LOL!! Threw them on the floor and just used the sheets, they looked clean, but who knows at this point. We jump in the truck and head to the border. After going to the falls we come back to our room. Now we have flies in the room. Were not there when we checked in, now I'm thinking Amittyville Horror. We go back out get those amazing wings in Buffalo bring them back to the room to watch the ALCS game on the TV that suppose to have cable and HBO. Yea right, the TV had 6 channels and one movie channel that played THE REAPING all night long, nothing else but THE REAPING. After eating all those wings, you know, nature calls, a number 2. Well the toilet is working but barely. The woman next to us you can hear thru the bathroom wall, interesting, but not something I will write on this review. The next morning I get up to take a shower. Turn the water on and the water pressure is like a squirt gun coming out in one tiny stream from the showerhead. We checked out by 9am. ****ADVICE**** STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND STAY SOMEWHERE NICE, DO NOT GO THE CHEAP ROUTE LIKE I DID!!!!!!

Well...half the things that are said on the brochure are NOT TRUE!!! There was no fridge, no tv, there was a microwave (didn't want to look inside it) but it was there. There were at least 3 beds, and 2 of them were very uncomfortable. The carpet was dirty, we didn't even want to take our shoes off. The shower did have hot water, but the shower itself wasn't the greatest. Overall the washroom was not in a presentable condition. The windows were torn, and any idiot could easily break into the room, so we had to take our stuff when we left to Niagara. I don't know if there was wifi-internet, but i highly doubt it as there wasn't even a tv. Overall this motel is not worth the price, and I don't think these are the "best rates" ALSO IF YOU GO TO COMPLAIN THERE IS A SMALL SIGN IN THE CORNER WHICH SAYS "no refunds" SO ONCE YOU BOOK YOUR STUCK!!! -i hope this review will prevent someone from making the same mistake we made :) :(

We read the online reviews and noted that perhaps 1 person per website (yahoo, tripadvisor, etc) had given a negative review, while the rest were positive. So we booked at the Pelican Motel for the weekend of Oct 20th, 2007. I would not tell anyone to go to this motel after staying there only 1 night. I can understand if a hotel is a bit "tired" or "worn", but this is not the problem. The problem is bathroom floors that are sticky, shower curtains that are moldy (i.e. the bottom half of the curtain was moldy), toilet paper that dissolves in your hand when you hold it (this may sound impossible, but it really did happen - we had to go buy toilet paper), a 1/4 inch crack around the door where it should be in its frame and which lets through a lot of sound and chilly breezes, no towels in room (and when we asked for some, we were asked to come back in 30 minutes....), a baseboard heater that had been largely yanked out of the wall and had its electronics pulled out so we were fairly scared about turning it on, a toilet that had could barely flush....I could go on..... I should also mention that for this room, we payed just over 90 dollars for one night. I do not understand how this place can get even 1 favorable review. It is like the people with favorable reviews went to another Pelican Motel that I couldn't find. I have been to many different countries, stayed at hostels, pensions and other budget accomodations, and have seen cleaner conditions in places such as rural Mexico or Colombia where I would not expect accomodations to be cleaner than what I found in Niagara Falls NY. In summary, spend your money elsewhere.

Excellent place, huge and clean rooms,friendly and very helpful staff. we had a wonderfull time at the falls, family loved the setup, seperate but joining room for the kids, walking distance to major resturant and prime outlet shopping center. highly recommended to fiends and families and the readers who wants to enjoy thier stay within a limited budget.

We absolutely love this place. Although we rent from friends there the value for someone off the street is still very good for the location.
