Chelsea Lodge, New York City

The good reviews on this site and in Fodor's guide proved accurate: this hotel is a clean quiet oasis in the heart of NY's Chelsea Village. Rooms are small but comfortable and the shared toilet arrangement is no probelm at all: how much time are you going to spend in a hotel room when you're in Manhattan? We didn't when we were there last week and we found good uses for the money we saved. The manager was very helpful with questions about transportation and NY culture in general. The hotel is also conveniently located to subway stations and to excellent dining. No desk/table in the room could be a concern if you want to work in the evenings, but Chelsea Lodge met our expectations. Our positive experience guaranees that we'll be back next time we visit NYC.

i stayed here on my first trip to nyc. it was awesome. i fell in love with it from the start. it is not pretentious, but very welcoming and cozy. i felt like i was coming to my own apt every time i came back from exploring. the staff was very nice and helpful. the little private shower was cool to have in the room. if you act like paris hilton then just dont stay here, if you are down to earth laid back, budget minded person, who is out on the town checking out the scene, and wants a comfortable place to sleep, this is the place for you. great location. the area has great restaurants and is nice for people watching. planning a trip back soon and will stay here.
