Not so hot.

I'm a serious skier who has taken many trips to Utah. I've stayed at the Rustler in Alta and several times in Sandy. We've skied most of the resorts up the canyons, plus Snowbasin and the Park City areas. Our three-night stay at the Lodge at Snowbird was a letdown. For the big bucks expended, there were some serious drawbacks. Our room was a basic two queen beds and mini-fridge. The only less expensive option was a studio with a sofabed, and it was more than three hundred a night. Our room actually had a queen and two singles. Uggh. No coffee maker, no water glasses... a few paper cups and coffee in the lobby. We requested a coffee maker which was delivered within a half hour and we supplied our own joe. I rinsed it myself the first morning and even with a five-dollar tip, it was left dirty by housekeeping the second morning. The paper cup on the bedside table disintegrated overnight with water in it! We requested some water glasses which were delivered within thirty minutes. Our balcony was shared with the unit next door. Our ski-room locker combination was not included when we checked in so we had to go back to registration. The locker room was filthy with paper cups, stray gloves, plastic flagging, cig butts and candy wrappers on the floor. We reported it to the desk, but there was no improvement before we left. Some supplies we used in the room were never replaced (for instance, a Snowbird plastic bag) and we only had one small wastebasket. The things I liked (besides the Utah powder) were the excellent storage (drawers and bathroom shelves) and great reading lights. But, for $344 a night (plus tax, plus a ten-dollar-a-day resort fee), I expected a lot more. Stay in Sandy!!
