Pine Cone Acre Motel, South Lake Tahoe

We chose this motel because it was closer to Kirkwood and quite affordable. Little did we know what a find it would be. The rooms are fairly good-sized and clean, the motel is charming, the staff accomodating. AND THE PLACE IS QUIET! (he shouted). If you want a nice place that's away from the amped-up yahoos near Heavenly then this is the place.

We look forward to staying at the Pine Cone Acres Motel because it is like a "home-away-from-home." It is such a comfortable and friendly place to stay in a relaxed park-like setting with beautifully kept pool, friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. Choice restaurants are close by offering a variety of cusines. Our favorite is the Rendezvous Restaurant. A clean well kept room with TV, refrigerator and microwave awaits us each time we return. The beds are always comfortable. We especially like to sit outdoors in front of our room in the summer, because of the refreshing cool air and friendly people. The service is top notch! The manager is right there to help with any need you may have. We woke up one winter morning to discover a record breaking storm had left the parking lot full of snow. No worry, the management had the parking lot plowed in record time plus suggestions for the best route to go for the least problems with snow. Best of all, the price is very resonable! The Pine Cone Acres Motel is a place that we can depend upon. Our Home-away-from-home!

The bathroom was small with no counter and a tiny shower. the mattress was hard and uncomfortable with flat pillows. the only chairs were plastic folding chairs and the room was tiny. I was expecting to get a nice place for a romantic evening with my girlfriend, but what we got was an overpriced peice of refuse. Instead of the 85 bucks we payed it should have been 30 or 40 tops.
