Suited my needs fine but not a vacation type of place
This is a small hotel that I stayed at for 2 weeks because of an extremely inexpensive weekly rate.
I needed a place where I could access the internet while looking for a full time room in San Francisco.
This place was fine as it had a good rate around $300 a week. Rooms are pretty small and would probably be fairly claustrophobic if you are not use to Residential/Transient Hotel rooms which are a lower priced alternative to the very high price of renting an apt. in the SF Bay Area. This is a very common way of living for many working class people. Others staying here were no problem. Just all of us trying to get by in a very expensive area as best as we can. But this can seem odd if you are unfamiliar with this style of living.
Rooms have a murphy style fold out bed, small mini fridge, microwave, 26" TV with cable and dsl hook up which I had to have for access to craigslist.org etc. They are pretty small and seem a bit cramped for more then one person but if you get along well it can be a great money saver.
Bathrooms are in the hallway and showers as well but everything was very clean. You just need to bring a robe and realize that you share a bath at a house with others so this applies here as well. Washer/Dryers also available.
Rooms are kept secure with keycard access and you must pass the desk clerk and pass through the lobby to get to the security door. I'm female and felt perfectly safe staying here.
Hotel provides coffee and continental style breakfast; first come first serve so get up early before the food is all gone. There is a small market very close to buy food, soda, beer, wine and a working class style bar just down the block.
The location is in the center of Redwood City which seems very quaint and peaceful after living in Urban San Francisco. Caltrain can be taken into SF. The train stop is around 6-7 blocks away by a shopping center with a lot of cheap places to eat.
It suited me fine but if you are looking for a swank vacation place or upscale business accommodation better to look elsewhere and it would be unsuitable to have a lot of children as well.
And there are redwoods in Redwood City. Thought that might be noteworthy.
