Goldspike Hotel And Casino, Las Vegas

The pictures, videos and information on Gold Spike's website are accurate. Gold Spike is a block away from Fremont Street. So you can walk to it but you don't hear the Fremont noise while you sleep. We walked to Fremont Street and went zip-lining. The staff was nice at Gold Spike. It's the first place to renovate in the area. So my friend thought the surrounding area looked scary but it was really just under construction. Once we parked, he felt safe. The musclebound security in the parking lot and walking the hotel halls made everyone feel comfortable to walk anywhere day or night. They were nice and friendly too. We were helped at the front desk by the hotel manager, Michael Swain. He was extra nice to us. He told us to get the word out. They plan to have a lot of fun activities every weekend starting this weekend. You can find the info on their website. The weekend we stayed, they happened to have a parade right outside of the Hotel. Plus there was a rodeo nearby. At the Gold Spike, they had a band, and sexy cowgirls were serving free food. It was all lots of fun! We went to the Strip sometimes. So the Gold Spike location was great. Because it was freeway close. So we just hopped on the freeway to go to the Strip. That way we never had to deal with the Strip traffic. The shower had plenty of pressure and hot water. The air conditioning worked great. When we checked in, we asked to get rooms next to each other. They accommodated us. The pool was nice and had some pretty ladies sunbathing. I'm single so I liked that. But it was family friendly too, with kids playing in the pool with their families. Even though the parking looks small, we never had a problem parking because they have two lots plus free valet service. My friends and I will go to Gold Spike again. Overall, the stay was EXCELLENT and all of my friends will stay at Gold Spike again.

This we my first time at the Goldspike Hotel. We went for the dinner and stay to play some slots. The dinner we cheap and very good. The diner was very nice and the employees were helpful and polite. I was told that new owners have completely remodeled the hotel and if the rooms are as nice as its casino and resturants I will make reservations next time I visit Vegas.

I contracted gonorrhea from one of them. I will not be back.

I go to the gold spike at least once a week at 7pm for the daily drawing. The renovated casino looks really great. After the drawing I stay for a cheap and delicious dinner in the golden grill. The Gold Spike is now one of my favorite downtown places to hang out.

Went to the gold spike for dinner after work on Friday with some co workers. The food was amazing. The diner has been completely renovated, it looks really clean. My coworkers and I really enjoyed our cheap and delicious dinner. Try the burgers or the downtown dog. You will leave happy.

Went to the Gold Spike casino with some friends Sat night. We were surprised to find that they now offer live entertainment on the weekends. We had a great time. The drinks were still really cheap and the blackjack tables have low min and hot dealers.

The new owners have completely redone the place. The entire casino floor has been redone adding a pizzeria, bar and restaurant. Did i mention the food is incredible. Can't wait to see it when the rooms and exterior are complete. Will definately stay there again..!

I enjoyed my stay at the Gold Spike. Everything was sooooo cheap. Dollar beers, 3 dollar blackjack, 1.99 breakfast. The whole weekend cost me around $100 dollars! The casino floor looks pretty good. When I saw the outside of the building I was nervous, but it seems like the inside was just renovated. Im going back next month.

Went out with some friends to the Gold Spike last night. The renovations look really good. You have to see it to believe it. They finally had the table games open as well. The dealers were really friendly and the gambling was cheap! The casino floor looks real nice, probably the best downtown. Go check it out!

If you are into seedy joints with crazy people and cheap gambling, this is the spot. I love it, but I could understand if others did not agree. The strip to me is artificial and no longer has that many good deals. If raunchy and cheap are your idea of fun, this is it. Downtown is my favorite.
