Tortuga Del Sol, A Gay Resort, Palm Springs

I've stayed a couple of times, nice but not in my top10. I've stayed at approx. 38 Palm springs hotels and this is more of a niche' resort - Gay/nudist optional so they do cater to special needs. I can't recomeend this as a family hotel. Nice surroundings too. OK

In spring, the scent of flowering citrus greets you outside the gate. The grounds are impeccably maintained, privacy is top-notch, and the pool is beautiful. Plenty of places to sit under lemon, grapefruit, and lime trees - which are OK for picking. I stayed here with my two daddies and there was a fenced in place for me to poop, a whole big yard with lots to explore, and wonderful men who adored me. Almost everyone ran around naked. I loved the hammock and the turtles, and the owners, Rob and Rick are very welcoming and gracious. They even squeezed fresh tangerine juice for us. Morning coffee and rolls, nice rooms, and freshly made lemonade from the trees made it all great! I went hiking in the mountains - only a 15 min walk from the resort! Can't wait to go back. A puppy's paradise. Don't miss the Living Desert Zoo in Indio. Be sure to eat at El Mirasol Mexican Restaurant, which is just down the street a short 10 min walk. This is a place to get away from the bar circuit/bass filled dance scene and soak up the sun and desert air. Bars are only a short 13 min walk away. Best place and location in town.

I found "Tortuga Del Sol" to be absolutely fantastic, our hosts are beaming with gracious open arms to all their guest's. The resort is a fun and beautiful and I was really pleased with my room. I only hope to be back in the very near future. To the gay men, young or my age and older, you have got to go and stay here, you will have a blast. The price, you can't beat it.

I can't tell you enough how much my boy Erin and I like this place. We have had alot of memories here. The service can't be any better, the value is outstanding for someone who makes little as me. The location is romantic. If you would like to know more details call me at 909-239-1523..loving it!

This was my second time to Palm Springs and my partner's first. I stayed at another resort back in July, 2004; Desert Paradise. It was OK but not that friendly. Tortuga del Sol, on the other hand, was everything you could hope for if you want a clean, spacious and very warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The hosts, Ricardo and Robert, were so welcoming and available, helpful and caring, that I'd like to be able to think of them as new friends. Bob & Greg

Loved the hosts, like your at someones beautiful home. upscale amenties, with just the right personal touches. Love Love love this resort. Rick and Robert have built a wonderful resort for couples and singles to enjoy.

After several disasters in gay resorts, my partner and I found Tortuga Del Sol shortly after they opened for business a few years ago. Since then we have considered Tortuga our home away from home...Ric and Rob are not only very cool hosts; we now consider them friends. They treat everyone with the same great hospitality that keeps people coming back year after year. The resort is a quaint refuge away from the sometimes crazy world...the rooms are large and well decorated; the graounds are impecable, and the pool is large and just the right temp! Many new friends have been made during morning breakfast buffet and poolside chats.

Owners, Rick & Robert, friendly, helpful and very easy on the eyes. Really loved the fruit trees (Please pick some, thank you very much) outside room. Clean, comfortable bed, good location, excellent expanded continental breakfast.

I visited in the late spring and had a wonderful time. The place is clean, the hosts extremely friendly, and a great location. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed and not at all pretentious. I am very much looking forward to visiting again soon!

Tortuga del Sol was a good choice. Clean, well maintained and good value. The people were very nice too. I felt relaxed and happy that I chose this hotel in Palm Springs.
