My girlfriend fell into a nap as soon as she hit the bed. She wasn't tired. The bed was just that comfortable! Disregard all previous reviews. There is new management, and from what I can tell, the rooms are probably different too. The older reviews are not valid because of this. Matt runs the desk and he works ...and works ...and works so you don't have to because its your vacation. We got the last room there after hours for only one night and the bungalows were full after that. We needed another place at a different location that had a vacancy and Matt offered to call around for us. He even got us a free shuttle we never heard about! Matt gets six out of five stars for what he did for us. Quiet, quaint, and a great spot for privacy. They give free and new bike rentals, kayaks in the back, have a 6'+ pool and is very clean. Its also shallow for the kids at one end. Drawbacks: [what you came here for right?] -not for loud parties on the beach because its not designed for that. I don't see this as a drawback. -kayaks not on the ocean [due to location]. -5 min bike ride to get to the beach, so use the free shuttle service if you have a cooler or something. We took the free shuttle to the north streets to party, though I'm sure tiki hut and captain curts would have done just the same [they are closer]. I would definitely go back.

Upon arrival we noticed that the bungalows were clean but old, and not the charming kind of old. They smelled of mold and mildew. This I could have overlooked but where I take issue with this place is that this “resort” has a vicious dog on site. The owners/managers live in one of the units with their two dogs, once of which is a 160 lb St. Bernard that “hates other dogs” and left to his own devices would attack other dogs according to Yvonne (Owner/manager). We also noticed during our stay that Tim, who walked the St Bernard, was barely able to control the dog. We booked a room here because they allow dogs and we wanted to bring our dog with us. Had I know about the St Bernard, I would have never put my dog or family in that kind of danger. Oddly enough, we had the same experience with Tim, when it came to our dog. He screamed and yelled at my husband, pointing his finger telling us we needed to control our dog because we initially let her walk off-leash on the grounds. It’s Tim & Yvonne who can’t control their dog. Why they think living in a studio apartment on-site with a 160 lb vicious dog is a good idea – I don’t get it.

This place was charming, very private and like a mini bit of paradise, away from it all! We barbaqued , swam, and relaxed more than we had in years!! The little extra touches in the rooms made it feel very luxurious. It was also at the same time very down to earth. The only draw back would be that it is not on the beach. We enjoyed the privte pool and short drive to the beach just as much. Having a kitchen for breakfast or lunch was very covenient too.
