Description

Coral Costa Caribe, an all-inclusive resort, is situated in the quaint fisherman's village of Juan Dolio. Some rooms have an ocean view, while others offer a bird's eye view of the hotel's beautiful tropical garden. Each room is nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. There are plenty of activities for both adults and children, so boredom is the least of your worries, especially with the plethora of shopping choices in and around the resort. The activities staff is excellent and the resort's nightly entertainment packages are quite good.

WORST RESORT EVER!!! DO NOT GO!!!
By ,
The saying "you get what you pay for" is a perfect description of this place. PLEASE do not stay here if you have expectations of a great vacation. It's my first time staying in a resort in the DR but, I have traveled enough to know the difference between this horrible resort and other places that are tolerable. We booked a trip for 10 days to the CCC and upon arrival at the airport it was already an issue with our transfer- the guy had our names but didn't want us to board w/o some sort of voucher. Okay- so they had my name though! Upon arrival I was impressed with the grand entrance of the lobby however, with closer inspection everything is half-done. It took us almost an hour for check-in with no line. At checkin they get you right away with their vacation club time share breakfast- no thank you! And, they never stop!!! They are constantly hounding you to come to a breakfast on the beach with a seminar for the time share. Go away Francisco- is what I actually said after the 6th approach. no exaggeration! The service here I horrible!!! you have to ask 3 times for something before they bring it. In the buffet it takes to thee end of your meal to get a drink. All of the restaraunta are closed one night a week and once the restaraunt is full they say it's closed. It's rediculous! And the food is horrible- not a good selection at all. They also run out of wine every night. the ladies next to us at the Mexican restaraunt ordered chips 3 times the last time they asked for them the guy said - we don't have anymore chips. unbelievable! the first room I had the door didn't bolt, the phone didn't work and the air conditioning was broke - it also took us 2 days to be moved to a room with a broken remote, broken toilet and little mouse friend that visited one night. the beach is okay- I have seen better. the beach chairs need to be replaced and so do the "beach" towels from the towel hut. oh and that's even if they had towels. the vendors that are on the resort bother you constantly when you are walking to the pool or on the beach. and the men are total scum- they keep hitting on you and don't leave you alone. very annoying. The last day I was threatened to be killed by one of the contracted staff- Rich who does the excursions. Stay away from him and RIGO! overall- I would NEVER come back again and I actually am excited to leave and go home! bad food, bad service and not all that nice of a place.

Already booked again for next year
By ,
This was our third trip to the CCC, and each one seems to get better and better. This year they reclaimed about 75 feet of beach all along the coastline, so there is definitely more sand to play in. Very good swimming area, and the 3 pools are very well looked after as well. Definitely a nice play to relax. The casino was nice to us again this year, as we got to take home 'their' money yet again :) Looking forward to going back again in January. Have a fun time!!!!

We have returned
By ,
A ok resort, weak drinks, ok food, but a nice casino, and fun night activities and disco. Many waiters do not know english. Nice neighborhood for a walk and bike ride.

Burnt to a crisp !
By ,
Compared to most other "international" beachside hotels i've been to in the Dominican Republic, this hotel rates extremely poorly ! We went there over the New Year's holidays, and were extremely dissapointed. We had rented two suites (one for the kids), and the rooms were dirty (you could not walk on the floor on your bare feet without having them come out black!); the airconditionning did not work (thankfully at this time of year the nights are cool, but I would hate to be there in spring or summer); a pipe leaked in the ceiling in the bathroom, so you could in fact take a shower and a leak at the same time !; finally, the room is supposed to be provided with 2 free beers daily, but wasn't. Outside wasn't much better: huge steel pipes about 4 feet in diameter lined the beach, as they were in the process of dredging and pumping sea sand on to the beach: so you had to do some mountain climbing over these pipes to access the sea, only to discover troubled waters ! Because of the New Year celebrations, the hotel installed tables and chairs on the beach, and therefore all the beach chairs had been bunched up together (both by the two small swimming pools and on one side of the beach), thereby eliminating ALL pretense of privacy ! To make matters worse, the hotel provides absolutely NO beach umbrellas ANYWHERE, so essentially you were left to burn to a crisp under the caribbean sun ! Mercifully for all the european, canadian and american tourists there, winter rainshowers kept pouring about 3-4 times during the day, thereby providing SOME degree of relief from the sun and heat.... of course, most people preferred to run for shelther into the dining room area, only to have to hunt all over again for somewhere to lie down once the rainshowers were over ! The New Year eve buffet on the beach "looked" good, but tasted mediocre at best (everything was cold !), much like the regular meals in the open buffet and other small restaurants available.... I pitied the busload of canadian tourists arriving to the hotle as we were escaping !... All in all, an experience I will not soon forget. You won;t see ME back there anytime soon... Buyer beware !

Awesome First Holiday Abroad
By ,
As it was my first ever holiday abroad, I had nothing to compare it to but was Very Impressed with the overall Friendliness of the Staff and their Helpfulness.Nothing seemed too much for them. On my arrival at the hotel with my then Boyfriend, due to a mouth problem which had started up on the flight from England,I was taken to see the on-site Dr.This was done with no hesitation and I was impressed with how he made me feel at ease despite the pain I was in. First Rate Dr in my opinion. The room we had during our stay was always cleaned so that it looked like a showroom-most impressive. My Partner actually proposed to me while we were staying at this hotel as the Ambience made it feel right for him to do this. We are already making plans to return to this hotel some time in 2006. Keep up the Good Work-I can't wait to return.
