Decent Hostel, Great Service, Terrible Bar!!

The Global Village Backpackers in Toronto is a pretty average hostel in my opinion with many pros though a few more cons.
Pros: The hostel was very well located, pretty much where you want to be situated in Toronto. It's near all the attractions (CN Tower, Eaton Centre and Kensington Markets) and not too far from the club district and popular bars. The tour company inside the hostel, Moose, is amazing. They provide great tours at affordable prices. Also the hostel had fantastic service (especially from the front desk staff) they were just amazing, willing to help with any problems.
Con: Cleanliness of the hostel was really poor. It seemed that the bathrooms were always a little dirty. The breakfast supplied was pretty average as the pancakes aren't the tastiest around, though the weekend food menu was pretty good. Probably the worst was the bar inside the hostel, never any drink specials, expensive alcohol compared to other bars and it seemed that every night was just boring as nothing really was going on. The manager seemed to have no idea, should really try to liven the place up as I had a much better time at other bars around the city.
All in all it was an average experience, if I head back will probably try a competitor.
