We won't be going back
By ,
We were very disappointed with our vacation! The whole time we were at the Wyndham Monday December 1 - Friday December 5 there was construction going on. The hotel pool was closed so we had to use the pool next door. We were woken up every morning at 8am by the hammering and the fire alarm went off at all times of the day since they were using the fire hose to refill the pool. Nobody cared too much when we told them. The room itself was nice and it was a good thing since we spent most of our time there....not much of a nightlife for young people who don't love to gamble! We visited the Atlantis and were blown away, stay there if you can afford it! The Atlantis was so much nicer and there were way more things to do. The Wyndham is just too run down.

DONT GO!
By ,
Had a beautiful view of the condoms and beer cans on the roof below our balcony. Room was filthy and uncleaned from previous guest when we got there. There was lipstick on my wifes cup in the hotels restaurant. We asked for a clean one but it looked like all the waitress did was smear it with a cloth. We asked for extra pillows on the 1st night and got them on the 5th night. We went to 6 different restaraunts on the island and the services was deplorable everywhere. I attribute this to the required 18% gratuity being included on your bill whether you liked the service or not. There is no incentive for customer satisfaction when they know they'll get paid not matter what. The hotels beach property had slimy algae collected in its alcove. Gross! Go to Puerto Rico instead cheaper, nicer and an American territory.

Just Say Yes To This Great Place!
By ,
The beachfront location is absolutely gorgeous. A large palm grove with hammocks provides shade for sun weary travelers, and the white sand beach with ample lounge chairs provides lots of sun for those who are sun hungry. Picturesque--like something right out of a Corona commercial. The staff was bend-over-backwards friendly. Recent updates to the pool and rooms are classy and in good taste--granite countertops in bathrooms, flat screen televisions, nice bedding. Great value because the lobby and common areas are retro-80s, but how much time you gonna spend in the lobby anyway? We went with four other couples and spent days on the beach. Kayaks, snorkel gear, floats, and deck chairs are all included. Awesome! Everybody was completely relaxed by the time we went home, sad to depart and return home to kids and minivans. Have fun!

Winter getaway
By ,
The Wyndham is a great alternative to the high cost of Atlantis. The room we had was an ocean veiw suite with a balcony overlooking the blue seas of the Caribean. The cleanlness and service are top notched, The Bahemians might be the friendliest people in the world. several restaurants are available, prices are all on the high end and I would have expected better quality for the price. The Wyndham is full of amentities way too much to list. Several miles from the heart of Nassau its a bit out of the way but taxis run frequently, nothing beats 80 degrees and sunny in the middle of February.

good time

I went solo! The hotel was nice.. I am glad I could use the hotel next store for swimming and charge to my room (Sheraton). When I go again I will stay at the Sheraton much smaller and cleaner! Very Expensive!

Totally a bargain and nice place
By ,
Ok.. a lot of this is based on likes and dislikes in a vacation so just for comparison..I went with my wife and two boys ages 14 and 11. We are very active family, we work out, take day trips, etc etc. Clean rooms are a must, a view, clean beach, etc are important. The hotel as everyone knows is under renovation but by now most of it is not really a problem. We payed a room rate for two adjoinging rooms that was VERY good, looked over the ocean, and were renovated. Flat screens, great bathroom with two sinks ( ie we all had our own sink). The lobby was nice as were the resturants. Im not a huge gambler but the Casino was nice and I placed some bets on some sporting events and played some blackjack. Personally I get bored playing so its not like a big thing for me but the Casino was clean and busy. The Wyndams beach is really not that great because it over looks like this odd lagoon instead of just going out into the sea. I snorkeled it with My kids and we did see some cool fish and a Huge lobster, the beach was clean but the lagoon was lame. But you can use the Sheratons beach a few steps away as they are all under one umbrella so that was a prefect solution. Plus you can use the Sheratons pool also. Speaking of the pool, The wyndams was big, fun slide and the Sheraton had three smaller pools that were winding with a coupel waterfalls... that was cool with the kids who would get lost for a while doing the pool thing. The restaurants were mucho expensive, but honestly all of the bahamas is fodo wise. But they were good and the food was totally nice. There are probably other hotels you can check out. Personally something like the Atlantis is not my style.. it was way too big, like a disney resort with slides, rides etc. Thats cool for some people but for me, if im in the Caribbean im more low key. I dont need to go to a water park when im in the caribbean. So yeah this hotel was an awesome value, nice clean, great rooms. Advice: Sign up for a Wyndam Card to get some perks. Also avoid the totally retarded time share people in the lower lobby. I got a free dinner out of it but for any intelligent person it was the most asinine 90 minutes you will ever spend. Totally retarded presentation.

Had a great time
By ,
The rooms were great, the pool with the big slide was fun for the kids. The Kids club was a bonus & gave the kids something to do for a couple of hours. The pool area & beach area very relaxing. Live music during the day...fun atmosphere. I didn't like the added 15% gratuity on everything....even when just ordering a bag of chips from the Sweet cafe. The breakfast at the Sweet Cafe is delicious. Not very expensive, but still, have to pay 15% gratuity & get your own food (no waiters/waitress). Overall a great vacation & I would definitly stay there again.

A pleasant vacation in the sun
By ,
My wife and I stayed at the Wyndham Nassau resort from 28 February to 6 March 2008. We were generally happy with the resort and casino. The casino was much nicer than the casino at Atlantis which was smaller and had poorly maintained machines. The food at the Wyndham was generally very good, but pricey, particularly at the Black Angus restaurant where the quality was lower than the other restaurants and the prices higher. There was good service, but the staff said that the hotel had a shortage of facecloths and large towels on a few days. The beeping of the painters machines annoyed us the last day, but generally they were unobtrusive. The staff were friendly and eager to please, the hotel was clean and up to our standards. The ocean water was pleasantly warm and the beach and pool very pleasant. We enjoyed the casino and the free plays of at least $5 a day. My wife won $50 in free play one day. The odds seemed reasonable. Taxis and buses were always available to take us into town and to the sights. I was disappointed that there was not more live entertainment, although there was a barbacue on thursdays with limbo dancing and other entertainers and a live group played in the evening at the bar at the pool.

we had a great time
By ,
hey everybody, we just got back from a sven-day-long staying at wyndham, tower H. i was very concerned, cause i had read a few negative reviews here before. well, the staff at reception is really not the nicest, but the rest was ok. the room was big and always clean, nice furniture, clean bathroom, big closets. well the buffet is certainly not cheap, but where can one have such an amazing breakfast or dinner buffet? we loved it. if you look at the prives of the restaurants (regarding that you are paying for only one dish and add gratuity fee) it is much much more convenient spending $27 on a lunch buffet that leaving $35-40 in some restaurant. and you dont have to eat at the hotel always. if you want something cheap and ggod, visit the "fish fry". real authentic bahamian atmosphere and good prices. and they are open in the evening, too. back to the hotel: i would recommend to anyone, we were absolutely happy with it. and the 15$ dily resort fee or whatever its called: every hotel has it! any questions let me know.

Warning...go to Atlantis
By ,
Terrible erratic service, poor value, and dirty describes this facility. Arrived to a room that was not even serviced. Was given a certificate for the overpriced on-site buffet. Front desk service, pool service, restaurant service, and on-site shops are all inefficient, uninformative, reluctant to assist, and to summarize, a huge disappointment. Solicitation by Royal Holiday in the hotel was terrible, solicitation on the beach gets annoying. We were charged for maid service and maid gratuity for days they did not show up. Front desk staff made no effort at all to rectify. Unfortunately this was the worst managed facility I have seen in my travels. Avoid this place like the plague. Spent one full day at the Atlantis on Paradise Island and the service was night and day. Just as expensive but service and value for the price was much better. Would recommend anyone to stay at Atlantis and take the all-inclusive package if concerned about value. Cleanliness, amenities, convenience, and a helpful staff is present at Atlantis. Our next trip will be here.
