We can't wait to go back
By ,
Got a great deal through Living Social that included the breakfast buffet and the Dolphin Excursion. Loved the view and the convenience of having access to everything else on the property. I would recommend this resort to everyone.

The Wyndham
By ,
I give this hotel an average rating. When you check they charge you a $17 a day per person resort fee for staying. We ended up spend a extra a 150 dollars. The hotel was clean and beautiful. The staff was average nothing special. Room was small ocean view room is priceless. The power went out for four hours and no back up power. They gave us some punch no ice. It was ninety felt like a hundred. The location is good five minutes on bus. $4.75 for a beer. They always add gratuity on every purchase even on ice cream.

WE HAD A BALL
By ,
I took my girlfriend for her 30th Bday. We were skeptical when we first arrived at the hotel. The reason is we had 2 wait like 2 hours on the rooms. So we went to the pool area and had a few drinks...get the island beer, Kalik and Kalik Gold(very strong), Bud Lights were $6 bucks for 1 12 oz. The pool area and beach are amazing! When we finally checked into our room, the view was outstanding! Room was not anything special but it was nice and we didnt come there to stay in the room all day. There are multiple places to eat in the hotel. Some are expensive and some are not, depends on what you have a taste for. The club, i think is on the 2nd or 3rd floor and we went every nite....it was great, not crowded but wouldnt recommend it for older people because its very loud and live! We stayed downtown almost every day. The #10 bus takes you for $1.25. If you choose to go to Paradise Island and party or hang out one nite, be ready for a $20 buck taxi fee for going 5 miles at the most. It is a nice hotel and we are going back in August of this year w/ more friends! No hidden cost, they just shock you with the taxi's fee after 7PM and they are very laid back, as if they're on vacation themselves, but they're cool people! They lady at the package store on the 1st floor told us to get beer from the store and save from paying crazy prices at the pool bar! We had a very nice time and I think any other young or middle aged person would luv this spot!!!!

Love the Bahamas, not this hotel!
By ,
The only thing I can say was good about this hotel was the room and the view. That was it, the room was big and bed was nice, and we could see the ocean. But that is where it ended. The Staff, except for a select few, were rude beyond measure. If you tried to double check something, such as your check out time, they will just give you attitude back or say, "Were you not listening to me mon!" Which is exactly what I was told to the very word. They will charge you for everything that comes your way. Lets say you want to get something from the little so called mini-mart, they add 15% gratuity there! Why am I tipping the person I am simply buying a soda from? Around the pools, when there was supposed to be a Life Guard, for 5 days that we were there I never once saw a life guard at anytime of the day. Given we did go out, and had somethings to do, I never saw one while we were actually at the hotel, EVER! The maintenance on the buildings is so so. If its raining, which it did for us a few days. STAY IN YOUR ROOM! The hotel has soo many leaks, they try to put towels down to catch the water, not even buckets. And after a while you are walking in puddles through your hotel since the towels cant hold anymore. Now I could have seen past most of this, and believe me there were a lot of small things beyond this that were adding up. I know this seems like a rant, but I rarely leave a survey like this for anything. I am generally happy and can see past most things, but the one thing that really made me so angry and mad is when we needed some help. At 4 AM my wife was having some problems with her shoulder. Its a long story but I was simply trying to get her some tylenol or advil to help relieve the pain. So I called guest services, they told me to wait till 8 AM when the mini-mart opened. I walked down to the Front Desk in hopes their emergency kit would have something. But this put me over the top. Their so-called emergency kit, was a metal box from the 50's or 60's, and had a small bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide, a small bottle of Rubbing Alcohol, a few rubber gloves, and small small bottle of stuff that you would plunge a syringe into. I AM NOT LYING. I really wish I was lying about this, but I was so mad at this point that I am going to write this review on many sites. If you really care about safety for yourself, or your family, DO NOT STAY HERE! The simple fact they have no emergency kit, and I would doubt any kind of EMT training, has made me hate this place so much, that I will never stay at a Wyndham resort ever again! The food in this hotel is so ridiculously expensive that after seeing our bills, we have decided, and I will share this with you as well, that if we do go back to the Bahamas we are going to stay at the Sandals resort. Here is why, yes it seems more expensive by a lot, but Sandals includes your food, drinks, room service and a ton of water activities that were scarce if found at all at the Wyndham that you have to pay for. With how the prices alone of food are set, we should have booked Sandals in the first place as it cost us the same amount if not slightly more! I know this since our friends that we went down there with, stayed at Sandals cause they were getting married. That was the best part of the trip, we got into Sandals to be with them have fun, and not have to pay a dime cause they even took care of us, and we were not staying there! If you are traveling as a couple or family, stay at Sandals as the average cost of food for 2 was around $80 or more per meal. I wish I was lying on that one to, and we did not order the most expensive food. Our first meal was $92 or so, and that was for 2 glasses of wine, a salad and 1 entree. One last note, The Sheraton and the Wyndham have apparently merged around the Crystal Casino, and you can use all of the facilities at the Sheraton, but guess what? They are just as incompetent as those at the Wyndham. Avoid BOTH!

Day Pass for Cruise Passenger's a Hidden Gem
By ,
My Family of 14 went here when we were in Port (Carnival Fascination). This place was recommended as a good place to take the family for a day pass which included use of pools and the beach at the Wyndham and the Sheraton next door. Price was $40 it also included lunch at the buffet. To my surprise the food at the buffet was very good. We enjoyed our day at the beach and use of the facilities here. It was not crowded. It was during spring break. The college students were on the beach that had dance competitions, very entertaining to say the least. The students were not rowdy at all while we were there. At around six the staff set up a buffet outside on the beach for the hotel guest it looked really nice I would consider going to stay here if I return to the Bahamas.

BEWARE: DRUGS & VIOLENCE!!!
By ,
READ FIRST: We went for our honeymoon (Sept. 1, 2008) We waited 2 extra hours on a reservation that they apparently gave away, even though we made it over 6 months ago. We even called that day to tell them that we would be in later that afternoon (felt like a Seinfield episode). After we finally got a room, which was very spacious room, we ran into multiple drug dealers that worked within the hotel. Now I am speaking as a teacher and a parent... so I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies, let alone friends. But, if you do decide to go, plan on running into rude/druggy Bahamians that only want to rob you when you turn your back. P.S.- Do not go out at night by this hotel... one person at our hotel was stabbed, even though he was with a group of people.

Real beautiful beach and the people there were real humble. Cheap to ride the bus around and plenty of things to do. Would go back gain.

Loved it!
By ,
The room was very comfortable, nice balcony overlooking the pool area and Carribean, widescreen tv. The staff was VERY friendly. Restaurant selection is great...breakfast buffet yummy! Food and beverage prices are reasonable, unlike the Atlantis. Lots of amenities on site too.

\"Beware\"
By ,
OKay, where do I begin..... Originally, we booked our wedding at The Atlantis, but we got a much cheaper rate at the Wyndham. Well, I hate to say it just like all mom’s say “You get what you pay for.” From the beginning to the end, it was the hardest job trying to communicate with them to plan the wedding. Their so-called “wedding consultants” were not helpful in accommodating our needs and we ended up using their out-sourced consultants (florist, bakery, dj), which were horrible! We paid for different services for the wedding that never took place and they added on extra fees that weren’t explained in the beginning. If I could do it all over again, Atlantis would definitely have my money! We had 60 people at our wedding so I’m not sure if they are not used to working with that size of a wedding but it was truly the worst service I’ve ever had and I a total waste of money. To any bride and groom please think twice, triple-twice before deciding to make your memories here!
