Skiers, honeymooners, and sightseers will find much to like about this motel. With many rooms offering fireplaces, in-room Jacuzzi whirlpool spas and complimentary champagne, this is an ideal getaway stop. All of the rooms are cozy and charmingly decorated. Many of them feature knotty pine and high mountain decor, so you could feel as if you are in a secluded mountain cabin. But you're not. This hotel is only a short distance from the Nevada casinos and excitement. A heated pool adds to your summertime enjoyment and relaxation here.

Good place.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
Good location - a few blocks from the beach, Heavenly Village and casinos. Clean room except for a few missed hairs on the bathroom tile (we wore our sandals while showering). Hot water was working...thank goodness (I've heard of horror stories from small hotels like this.) We thought we were getting a Queen size bed but got a nice King size bed instead. Unique interior -- wood paneling makes it look "cabin-ish". TV, microwave and fridge in room. There's an in-room spa (which we didn't use), with mirrors on the wall and ceiling. Bed was pretty comfy...not that bad unless you're picky (which my hubby was.) Bring your own pillows and towels if you can. Pillows were flat and towels were a little harsh on my skin. There was no hairdryer or ironing board. Overall, we had a good experience. Not bad but not great either. It was a good last minute place to crash in after a long tiring day. One thing I was worried about was that it could be a "roach motel". Well, Tahoe Hacienda is NOT a roach motel. It was clean and pretty well-maintained. Would we go back? Maybe.

Modest Accommodations
By Luke, 03/06/08
I've stayed at the Hacienda three times, and would certainly go back. "Modest" isn't a bad thing; the rooms may not high on attractiveness or style, but with a fireplace, bathtub and a kitchen, it's a great place to stay and to unwind after the exhertions of skiing. The Hacienda staff have always been friendly and helpful, the hot tub is hot and the location, while not directly in downtown South Lake Tahoe, is about 2 minutes away by car. A few rooms are "suites" with many beds, so you can pile in a lot of friends and save tons of money.

Clean, Cozy and Bow-Chica-Wow-Wow
By Andrea, 10/17/07
Great if you are in South lake for a few nights and want a place to crash and soak in a jacuzzi tub. The Inn was very easy to find and fairly modern looking and well kept from the outside. It was right at the bottom of the Heavely Gondela and close to shops, restaraunts( IHOP, Cheveys, Cold Stone, etc),the lake is accross the street, Pichetti Winery with AMAZING wine and $5 tastings on the lake, major grocery chains, starbucks, and ALL state-line casinos. You can pretty much walk everywhere. Our first impression of the room was, clean and wood cabin-esque meets 80's porn set on the interior. We had a nice big king sized bed with a wall size mirror behind it and RED carpet. In the bathroom was a separate vanity area, separate toilette room (with window), and wash area with shower stall and separate (BLUE) 4 person jacuzzi tub with blue tile, large windows and LARGE WALL SIZE mirrors surrounding it, as well as mirrors on the celling to top off the effect. The room came with cable, heat and air, also mircowave, coffee maker (no coffee or tea provided), fridge (no hair dryer or iron board visable), nice hot running water in the sinks and tub, nice big windows with screens and parking spaces right outside the room door(which was NICE). Our bed was a little too firm, but the front desk provided us extra blankets, towels and soaps anytime we requested it. There isnt a daily maid service, so you WILL need to ask for it, but the managers are more than happy to provide them to you. I had heard before from friends who stayed here that there was a strange aroma in the linens...and there was. Everything smelt like curry. Just to be prepared, we brought vanilla candles and disinfectant wipes which emiminated most of it, but it was still in the bedding. I would suggest bringing your own pillows and comforter/ sleeping bag if you stay here until they can figure out where the smell is coming from. It was all very clean, but I think the laundry room in too close to the Indian restaraunt behind us. The pool and spa were drained and under construction for the winter. But who cares, we had a spa in our room (with mirrors...haha). For the money, the place was great (a little cheesey) but we made the most of it and was able to save money for other things like gaming at Montbleu, dinning and clubing. The jacuzzi tub was a bonus, even though it was a little older...it still ROCKED. We would stay here again, without a doubt!

Would never stay here again
By hdrider, 07/23/06
The room we had (20) didn't have A/C or screens on the windows on a 90 degree day. The beds was uncomfortable and the pillows were usless. It's only saving grace is the pool. You can do better for the price.
