a doll house in Kanab
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/09
Four other women and I rented the whole house. Bonnie greeted us and directed us to our rooms. The rooms were adorable. The linen's had lace on them and they felt like heaven. The location was two blocks off the main street. Breakfast's were great and always on time, as we had a time schedule. the last night of our stay, we were greeted with homemade salsa and chips and a big pitcher of Margaritas, plus the best guacamole we ever had! Sad to leave but looking forward to coming back next year!

Won't be going back...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/09
I was disappointed with the Avoca House during my trip to Kanab. I took my mother on the trip for her birthday as a surprise. The hotel was not located in the main area of town; the room was very hot because the ac unit was insufficient to cool the room; and the view of the surrounding neighbors unkempt homes and yards detracted from the 'victorian charm'. Our plan was to stay 3 nights. After the 1st night of little sleep in our hot room, we asked to switch rooms (because we were the only guests it shouldn't have been a problem). The response was 'well, you know, it's hot here'; & that all the ac units worked about the same so switching rooms really wouldn't make a difference. Also that 'he didn't handle any of that & we would need to discuss it with his wife when she got back in about 2 1/2 hrs'. Well, we were tired, dirty, and hot after sweating all day and thought that was a little ridiculous to be asked to wait 2 1/2 hrs for his wife to come home (since we had moved out of the other room 2 days prior he suggested we wait on the porch). So we left and went to the Holiday Inn. It was in the middle of town, very clean, & surprisingly....even though it's hot there, the ac worked incredibly. Oh, & I was also charged for all 3 nights later on my credit card when we only stayed one.... We will be going back to Kanab yearly to volunteer at 'Best Friends Animal Sanctuary', but we will NOT be staying at the Avoca House again.

Great find in Kanab
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/09
This is a great bed N breakfast in Kanab. We had a lovely, quiet room with a private balcony and bathroom. The service was great and the breakfasts were awesome but I have several "picky" remarks. There were no boxes of tissues in the room so I had to bring a box in from my car. The windowsill in my bathroom was filthy and dusty so I used the tissues I brought in from my car to wipe that down. The room we stayed in was very comfortable but very stuffy. Put a screen door up so we can sleep without bugs coming in but enjoy the air.

Great vacation place.

The service was incredible, the surrounding beautiful and of course Kanab is a delight for the eye and the soul. Ask Bonnie or Wendy for tips about enjoying yourself in the area and you will be in for a treat. There is so much to see and do. Have fun and tell Wendy I said hi!
