Poor service, lousy location rooms not as clean pricing way too much for what they said it would be like. I do not recommend.

Hated it! Don't Stay here!!!!!!
By knm, 03/10/09
The front desk did not know what they were doing. He couldn't find our reservation # and after we gave him the print out, he said " Well I don't have a room for you" I called the general mgr and he never returned my call! There are so many great places to stay in Avila so do NOT stay here!!!!!! Terrible Customer Service!

Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/06
I thought the hotel, the staff were wonderful! The place gives you the feel of being in a cabin in the mountains -- a very elegant cabin. Our room was the best. The decor is simply beautiful. The place is quiet, at first we thought we were one of only a handful of guests, but it turns out the hotel was full. I would return here anytime.

pretty place yet disappointment
By cmontalban, 06/18/06
We couldn't wait to escape for the weekend for some R&R, unfortunately this new inn was such a disappointment! The facility and room is clean, new, very nice! The staff is terrible. There is simply NO service. The front desk folks were bad news, from misinformation to no information to unkind! We were unable to sleep due to the noise heard from above (walking, flushing, talking, splashing) We awoke early to view the continuous waterfall flowing down from above onto our patio. (front desk said, "it must be the folks above splashing in their jacuzzi." If you're inclinced to visit...don't stay downstairs, don't expect a quiet stay and don't expect food...which is no where on the property.

Wonderful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/06
A perfect relaxing getaway -- and I stayed on business. Comfortable, quiet, the free wireless internet was a big help with work. PS, they offer a nice corporate discount if you ask!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/06
Location location ... Says it's in Avila Beach really in parking lot a long way 4miles from beach .. Really disappointed in service checkd in three employees hanging at desk ,one was bartender others hanging out very indifferent ..bored just two other guests...rooms nicely decorated but small ,also no second beds in most rooms ..better choices in Avila Beach or san Luis Obispo

Wedding weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/05
I loved the area this hotel was located in. Beautiful facilities. Great gym. Continental breakfast included. Some of the employees seem to be students of local colleges and are not your usual hotel staff (a little inexperienced), but eager to please. When I called ahead I was told there were no irons or blow dryers in the rooms-there are. Great wine tasting rooms locally. The deli/store within walking distance had a phenomenal selection of wines also. There are wonderful restaurants, spas, and golf in the area!

Clean and Comfy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/05
The place is absolutely stunning. I loved the decor. Its quiet and cozy if on the smaller side. The staff was very friendly and warm. The path to the beach took a little longer than expected but otherwise the walk was enjoyable. The inn's fitness center was suprisingly large with weights downstairs and cardio upstairs. They also had private massage rooms and we enjoyed a great hour long massage! Also, we were given 2 passes to use the pool at the bay club next door which was nice considering the inn has no pool on site. Overall it was a great little getaway weekend.

Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/05
A previous review complained about a deceiving website regarding location. If the reviewer had bothered to look at the location map on the website it would have been obvious that the hotel is not in Avila Beach, and that is a good thing. At the present time, Avila Beach is a construction zone, with 5-6 huge condominium and one new luxury hotel under construction, not a quiet relaxing location. The Avila Village Inn was perfect for my wife and I for a 4 day relaxing getaway. The room was beautifully decorated, clean, and the balcony spa soothing. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the location provided easy access to San Luis Obispo or Pismo Beach. There is a fabulous 2 story fitness center in a separate building with enough equipment to keep 20 or more guests busy at the same time. There are 2 massage rooms on the second floor with several massage programs available by appointment. In the "village" is a general store/deli with a great wine collection, fabulous homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza, frittata...you get the picture, as well as general merchandise. We have stayed at other hotels in both Shell Beach and Pismo, as well as SLO over the past 35 years, and this place is a jewel in the crown.
