Needs a little love and attention

The view from the room was georgous. The location was beautiful. At first glance the place reminded me of pictures in Switzerland. From the inside it became apparant that the rooms needed ALOT of love and attention. There needed to be alot more cleaning done to the place. The return vents were horrible, there was trash under the bed, under the table and there had obviously been no vaccuming done in a long, long, long time. We had to keep our shoes on due to the fact that the kitchen floor was dirty. The place was really very nice, it just needed to be cleaned. The window looking into the valley was covered with cobwebs and the sliding doors were nasty. As I said before, it just needed the love and attention of a great housekeeper. We walked down to the pool and the hot tub. We didn't even think about getting in. They were both is need of special attention. The hot tub was not in working order, there was yellow tape around it. We planned on staying at the Resort for a week. About 2 days into our stay we tried to call the front desk and guest services to request toilet paper, and batteries for the remote to the television. We could not reach anyone. We stopped by the front office to speak with someone and there was no one there. There was no answer on the phone or no one available Saturday and Sunday. We just bought the items that we needed. I was also very upset to find that my daughter attempted to call us and could not reach us. By my fault I had been given the incorrect room number. I did however give her the numbers that were in the directory that was left in our room. One of the numbers was the front desk, she got no answer. She called the number for emergencies and the person answering the phone told her that she could not help her. I am very greatful that it was not a life or death emergency. Several days into our trip I phoned my daughter and said that i was concerned that she had not phoned us. She told me the story of how she attempted to call but could not get us.
Probably, just as important as a clean place is the fact that if grownups take children on vacation they need to teach the children a little respect for their neighbors. The first night in our room we were greated by LOUD teenager music on one side of us and shortly after that we were greated by children running and screaming on the other side of us. We could actually hear what the grown ups were yelling at the children. They ran, screamed and hollered until about 10:00pm. It was rediculous! The place had a wonderful little playground. The children needed to be taken to the playground to release all of the "playing" that they had inside of them BEFORE it became time to come inside. I have children of my own and I would never allow them to be disrespectful to the neighbors in the surrounding rooms.
I would recommend the place to others but before I did that I would recommend to the owners of the place to hire ALOT of maid service.
