Reasonable but awkward
The Riverbank is built from the shell of a former bank. The interior lobby area is very nicely done in a northwoods-y style. It has a small bar area off the main lobby. As a former bank, most of the main floor rooms are actually converted from the bank's original offices with new bathrooms built on. So, you could be sleeping in the former office of the V.P. for Finance or something. The upshot of this is the rooms in that area are tiny. There's no dresser or sitting table, the TV is hung from the wall, and you feel a little claustrophobic. The bathrooms are very new though (if small). A few of the rooms are even windowless to the outside world. As I said, "awkward." Finally, the lodge backs up against a minor rail line which runs once in the morning and once at night (around 11 pm). When the train's not there you do have a very nice view of the Sangamon River though. The staff were uniformly helpful and courteous and the continental breakfast was workable. The lodge has wi-fi, though the coverage was very spotty and the metal doors to each room didn't help. All in all, the Riverbank is the only game in town if you're not doing a B&B, so fortunately it's acceptable.
