San Juan Motel, Anacortes

We loved the new remodeled room, great location, great view, wonderful service, superb clean

I showed up at the hotel with a credit card reservation only to be told that they gave my room away to a customer who was staying more nights. They then without my permission provided my credit card information to another hotel and told me I could not cancel due to it being within 24 hours of arrival even if the other hotel was unacceptable. Bottom line shadey hotel, poor customer service. I have stayed there before but will not again!

Rooms are nice, reasonable size, clean, good condition with new kitchenettes, WiFi and HBOs, and the price is quite reasonable. Good location as well, just a few miles from the ferry terminal.

The bathroom had mold growing on the shower curtain. There was a thick amount of dust through out the room. The sheets had holes in them not to mention stains. The ceiling was flacking and had multiple coats of paint thourought the room. The chairs and couch had not been clean in ??? I would not suggest staying at this location and think it would be turned in to the Better Business Bureau. If it had not been so late when we registered I would have gladly sought another location.

While the room we stayed in (#30, 3rd flr.) had been recently remodeled, it was an amateurish job and detracted considerably from the overall experience. The lady at the desk was helpful and accomodating when we checked in, willing to move us to a different type room (we didn't know what type of room we had booked). We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom models, without a kitchenette. The bedrooms were arranged in a linear fashion, one behind the other, with the bathroom in between off of a hallway. The room appeared clean, but there was hair on the tub and sink in the bathroom. There also appeared to be mold on the edges of the window frames. The room had a small fridge, a microwave, and a color tv, and there was Wi-Fi, although we didn't use it. All in all, if I were going on a big fishing trip with my buddies and we were looking for a cheap room to stay in, this would be the ticket. Taking the family on a vacation... not so much. This is mainly due to the condition of the remodel work in the room. I was brushing my teeth, and leaned on the bathroom sink, and it nearly fell off the pedestal. The neighborhood around the motel looks clean and safe though. The ratings on this one are a tough call. The management has obviously tried pretty hard to fix the place up and give it all the features that are going to attract visitors. Unfortunately, they got off the track somehow.

Friendly staff, the room was fairly clean only things that were kinda gross was the shower curtain I think it was time to replace it or at least clean it real well. And the chairs in the kitchen area were fabric chairs and they both were really stained, we just took a couple of the small hand towels and layed them down on the chair so we had a clean place to sit. But other than those couple of things the room was clean and we enjoyed our 2 night stay. The rooms are very big. There is not alot of parking out front but plenty of parking around back. We would stay again.

The owner are nice but there is a lot to be desired. The rooms have 3 differnet colors of paint the shower looks like a throw back. had to wait 3 hours for toliet paper. no ice machine, no coffee machine , broke Refrigerator. tv is just normal channel no HBO or other, no iron, no hair dryer and when you ask for these items they dont have. no pool, no spa. no screens on windows. Maid was new and didn't know how many toliets to give. overall experience awful. Parking is not good not enough spots.

We stayed at this motel for christmas. I like the spacious rooms actually two roomes for the price of one. My children stayed in the front bedroom and us in the back bedroom with a door in the middle. I loved it, but my sister chose a room with kichen. There weren't any dishes to begin with but the manager was so freindly that she gave us pots and pans at our request. we cooked break fast and dinner and saved moneyMy sister's room was as spacious as mine. She had 2 televisions one in the back room and one in the front room her kids loved it. We only had one in our unit. We didn't miss a bit because my husband worked on the lap top. Both our families originally planned to stay for one night but ended up staying for three nights.This cute motel had everything that you would find at other motels at the fraction of the price.We loved it and will go back Me And Rick told all our friends about it.

I often stay in Anacortes because of my husband's job at the refinery and I decided to act as sort of a tour guide. SAN JUAN MOTEL DISLIKES: *no continental breakfast *no pool LIKES: *Discounts for REFINERY WORKERS, military, AAA, ARP, islanders, seniors *newly remodeled rooms *plenty of parking *located in downtown; near water front shopping, park, museum, movie theatre, ferry *big rooms *good for long-term and short-term guests *90+channel TV *quiet *Guest Laundry *daily Maid Service *FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF WHO KNOW THE AREA. if going north stop here, wonderful tour guides.

My family and I just visited Anacortes and stayed at the San Juan Motel;and I was just shocked when I read all these bad reviews. It seems that most of the people who had written these reviews had not even gone to the same motel as I. So, I decided to tell about my very recent experience at this motel. As we arrived, we could immediately tell that alot of renovations had been done. A new parking lot had been put in, and alot of the rooms had been remodelled. New drapes had been hung and new carpet was being put in. My favorite parts of the room were the kitchen area and the bathroom. The counter tops in both areas were fresh and stylish. Everything in the room (including beds) felt and looked as if it were brand new. I felt as if I were home. Actually, we had originally planned on staying only one night but ended up extending our stay for three more nights. This motel was the best for my family of 4. When I had first read on this motel's website that it was in the heart of downtown, I found that very hard to believe and was expecting to have to drive around everywhere; but I was so wrong. Everything -restaurants, parks, movie theatres, museums,shops and even the harbour - were all within walking distance. It felt great to be outdoors and my family enjoyed it. Also, the new management was very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay fun and also relaxing. They treated my family as their own family. I could not have been more relaxed during my stay. They took care of everything we asked for. The walkways outside were a little dirty, but you couldn't really blame that on the management because they really cant control the weather. All in all , my stay was wonderful and I could tell that over 70% of this 50 year old motel was newly renovated. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is completely renovated. When that happens, you will only be able to find me in one place... at the San Juan Motel (1103 6th St, Anacortes).
