Near-luxury accomodations in the middle of nowhere Maine

We just got back from Maine, and stayed at the Big Moose Inn for 2 nights. The Inn is quaint and comfortable, and the accommodations were great. My room was small, but nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable. My only complaint would be the size of the showers (common bathrooms) which barely fit a normal adult. We stayed in the old part of the Inn,but noticed that they had added a new wing with suites very recently. The food in the dining room was great, and the little "Loose Moose" bar was fun and well stocked. The living room was very comfortable, and the roaring fire was a welcome sight after a long, wet day of rafting. The owner was very friendly, and the place is staffed by friendly family and family friends, who made one feel very welcome. I felt "at home" when I stayed there, and would recommend it to anyone traveling to this area. I was very surprised to find such civilized accommodations in such a wild area. It's apparently the closest accommodations to Baxter State Park, and was frequented by many hikers planning to hike over Katahdin or rafting on the Penobscot.
