Better than advertised!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/11
We stayed for 3 nights. Great: bed, plumbing, TVs, furnishing, staff, breakfasts, access to transit, local food, botique shopping, and city. Portland is a very progressive community and these folks are part of that. We'll be back!

Wonderful Discovery!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/08
We found out about this place by accident. We canceled our reservations at the Downtown Marriott, which charges $26 a day for parking, and headed for the Pearl District, where the Inn is located. We have stayed at many hotels, all over the world, but never in a place like this. It is unique. We loved the jazzy decor, the spaciousness of the rooms, the kitchen facilities, and the beds. (I'm going to get myself one of their BeautyRest mattresses.) I took a lot of pictures of the interior, because it would be hard to describe to our friends at home. The complimentary breakfast is satisfactory, and Betty, the gracious lady who takes care of that operation, makes the breakfast room worth a visit. I consider the Inn at Northrup Station an amazing bargain. There's no big, fancy lobby, but who cares about that? We hope to stay there again some day. The only thing we would change would be to have an upstairs rooms with a balcony. Otherwise, it was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Poor staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/08
I actually never stayed here but there is a reason for this. We booked a 20 room block for our wedding and we paid for half of the rooms to hold them. One month later, several months before we even sent out invites, they canceled the 10 rooms we had held that werent paid for. Then they made us give ten names of possible guests and wouldnt give the wedding discount to other guests if they werent on the list ( and thus woudlnt refund our money either for that guest). When people WERE on the list they would at times say "sorry there are no more rooms left in the block" when there indeed were, and then they quoted guests on the list a wedding rate that was the same as the normal room rate. They also insisted all of our guests ask for one particular person instead of being able to transer their call to the woman in charge of wedding matters. Towards the end they hung up on us twice as we tried to discuss our frustrations. Do not EVER use this place for organized group events unless you want alot of extra heart ache and stress. I am not one to usually write reviews but this upset me so much I want to make sure others dont make the same mistake.

can't wait to go back......
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/07
a great, quite place to stay. the inn is surrounded by fun places to eat, drink and shop. also, having the trolly stop out front, made going on longer excursions quick and simple. when departing, the desk clerk went online and printed out my boarding passes and made sure i had a cab at five o'clock in the morning.

Planning a return visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/23/07
Great decor (bright colors, unusual artwork). It really captured what we have come to love about Portland- cool, hip and trendy. The room was spacious and super clean with a full kitchen. Beds were comfortable and had a great sitting area to relax and visit with friends. We did not rent a car for our 4 day trip so having the trolley right outside made it so convenient to travel around the city and the front desk provides free streetcar tickets each day. The breakfast area was bright and airy with good continental breakfast type items including a belgian waffle maker. Also in the breakfast area was a binder with menus from many of the area's restaurants so it was easy to find places for dinner. We enjoyed our stay immensely and can't wait to go back!

Loved the decor!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/07
We really liked the place! The rooms are so funky, colorful, and spacious with a kitchenette, living room area, and balcony. The only downside was there were not enough parking spaces in their lot, so had to park on the street in front of the Inn. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the room! Really enjoyable!!

My hotel of choice

Great location, near trendy restaurants and shopping. Easy access and parking. Fun, eye catching decor and very large rooms. Will always make this my hotel of choice when visiting Portland. Perfect for families or business travellers.

Staff needs some polishing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/06
It's clever, comfortable, near good food and stores and sometimes the staff is just fine. But sometimes you're not sure if the staff cares, or wants a tip first. We'll go back but if we're disappointed, we'll tell the world and find another place near Nob Hill. Oh, the continental breakfast...standard fare, aged muffins, a target toaster and really tired coffee with the usual cheap grocery store yogurt that wasn't long enough on ice.
