Unforgettable - I didn't want to leave!
I just returned from THE most delightful stay at the Willey's Farm B&B! And it was quite by accident. I had planned to stay at a local hotel, but was so disappointed with it after one night that I started calling around the very next morning. I lucked out & found the Willey Farm in Essex Junction, Vermont through the Chamber of Commerce and was thrilled that they had availability.
Here are the things I loved:
• Fabulous breakfasts! Best coffee I've ever had (and I'm from Seattle) and no end to it. Homemade bread, muffins, omelets, waffles, fruit spreads, juice, sausage, bacon... You name it, they served it. And I ate it!
• Beautiful home with new kitchen, living room, dining room and sun porch. All very inviting, open and colorfully decorated.
• Gorgeous bedrooms with beautiful views of the gardens and rolling lawns. The rooms are extremely clean and decorated in a way that makes you feel instantly comfortable and at home. (The whole house feels that way!)
• Plus, a personal favorite of mine -- each room has a ceiling fan that quietly purrs you to sleep!!!
• The gardens: flowering all season - so beautiful you feel you could take a nap in them.
But my most favorite part was getting to know Lynn (and Dave when he wasn't working or playing tennis...) Willey. They are such delightful, lovely people with great senses of humor who obviously love sharing their lives with their guests through the B&B. Lynn's stories kept me intrigued and/or laughing each morning until I had to make myself leave to "start my day". At the same time, I could tell if I'd been there with my husband who is a wee bit less social, Lynn would've known and made him feel completely comfortable. She's a natural at this! Having lived in the area for 50+ years she's a well of knowledge about the history of the area and fun things to do for all ages.
I highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast - with or without children. I intend to go back every year if possible. Thank you Lynn & Dave for an unexpectedly fabulous 4 days & nights. I'll never forget it ~ or you all!
