Maple Crest Motel, Alexandria Bay

This motel was so gross that we only stayed one night when we had planed on the week. This is a very old hotel that has had some superficial updating. The ac unit was so old the front panel was broken. The knob on the only lamp in the room was also broken. The place smells of must. The mattress was springy and quite uncomfortable. I hardly got any sleep over night. There were dead bugs in the corner and the water was brown when it first came out of the faucet. I can't imagine who would wrtie a good review about the place, we couldn't get out of there fast enough!

You have got to be kidding with the good reviews that are posted. Who wrote them? The owner?? It has to be the absolute worst place that we have ever booked. Room smelled musty and the entrance door had what looked like a closet security lock on it. We propped a chair under the door and still didn't feel safe. You are told one price per night over the phone and then it is raised when you check out. When you say that it is higher than what was quoted, you are told that is not the case and you didn't remember right. You do not receive a confirmation number or email that shows the price that you were quoted. Their website pictures must have been taken 10 or more years ago. We were planning on staying 3 nights and 4 days and cut our vacation to 1 night. What a dump. My star rating is ZERO.

We stayed at this motel in July 09, we had a service dog, which she knew about before we came, she yelled at us and the dog all night until my daughter was in tears. Made us clean garbage and then charged us double than she quoted us on the phone, then added charges for the dog. don't go near this lady- she is out of control.

Piles of rubbish in front of motel doors; room clean on arrival, but no cleaning done while we were there. Owner very nice, but that does not make up for poor service.

We have stayed with Mary on several occasions being that we are dear friends of the fall/winter entertainers at the Riveredge Resort Hotel. We found Mary to be most accommodating, friendly and outgoing. We've stayed in several of her rooms over the last few years and all of them were well looked after, clean and nicely laid out. The beds were comfortable and the teddy bears are really sweet. We hope to go back and stay with her again this fall. Jean and Bill Richardson Ottawa, Ontario.
