Thank you SOO much Gordie and Carole.. We loved our stay at your Inn.. It is just what we needed for our anniversary.. comfortable, quiet, relaxing.. Loved the whirlpool and the great breakfast that was made for us. Kudos on the creativity and color schemes of the Inn.. Just wonderful.. we will be back for sure!!! Jackie and Greg

Enjoyed the quaint Inn.
By ,
We were extremely satisfied with the accommodations and were also pleasantly surprised with the beautiful room. Carole and Gordie welcomed us and made us feel at home. They even upgraded our room because they weren't crowded. We did not have breakfast the next morning although our hosts wanted to know when we wanted to eat. We had a wedding Sat. night and were going to meet with our friends the next morning. The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. We would recommend the Appleton Inn to our friends. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Friendly and Hospitable
By ,
In town for business and couldn't find an open hotel room. I found the Appleton Inn as a last resort and I'm glad I did! Gordie and Carole were friendly and hospitable, cooking me breakfast early in the morning before I had to be on the road and even watching football in their living room with me! I would recommend this bed and breakfast for anyone, regardless of love of quilting or business affiliation.

Cozy, comfortable & friendly
By ,
I originally was just looking for the cheapest place to stay while attending a Richeson Art Gallery workshop. As Carole gives special rates to Richeson students it was the cheapest place to stay. And I was very pleasantly surprised. Great service and a very nice homey atmosphere. My room and bed was very comfortable. I liked the electric fireplace. Everything was light, bright and airy which is important with dark wisconsin winters. Lots of cool decorations to sketch. Carole and Gordy were very friendly and accommodating. I liked the homemade granola a lot. There was other things to eat too but I'm a very light eater and we got a lot of food at the workshop too, more than what I could eat. The location was excellent. Only 10 minutes away and a straight shot to Richeson Art Gallery. If I had more time I would have visited the Tapas bar I saw in downtown Appleton, but before I knew it, my stay was over and it was time to go home. kat

Feels like home!
By ,
My husband and I were in town doing some shopping in Appleton. We booked the Appleton Inn for the following reasons - price, availability, location, and the fact that there was a whirlpool in the room. When we arrived we were very warmly greeted by Gordie and shortly after met Carole as well. They were both very nice, showing us to our room, explaining the rules and where our entrance was. The room was beautiful, very elegant! It felt like home because it was so spacious. The DVD/Video player was awesome too! Most hotels don't provide those. Breakfast was awesome!! Best french toast I've ever had!! Thanks Gordie!! We very much enjoyed our stay, I would recommend it.

Not just for quilters
By ,
We started our annual fall color change drive in Appleton, Wisconsin this year and stayed the night at the Appleton Inn (also known as the Quilt-N-Be Bed & Breakfast). Our first impression, as we walked up the stairs, was this B&B looks inviting, lovingly maintained, and somewhat eclectic--be sure to look closely at the gingko tree out front. . We were warmly greeted by the owners, Carole & Gordon, who invited us to leave our shoes at the door (we do the same and felt right at home). They gave us a quick tour of the historic house that they have decorated in a Victorian style with bright colors and fabrics. Carol is a quilter and her handiwork is everywhere from upholstery to wall hangings. Our daughter was with so we stayed in the Red Hen suite on the second floor. This spacious area has two bedrooms, full bath, kitchen and living room. There is also a room devoted to quilting for groups who want to hold a weekend retreat. We looked at the other rooms and all were nicely decorated and equally charming. Carole and Gordie (as Carole refers to him) sleep in the refurbished attic. We suggest you ask for a tour to see how they turned this space from dusty attic to a dramatic loft. There's a garden outside the house where artfully positioned mirrors on the fence provide an interesting perspective of the flowers. Carole is an adventuresome cook and we really enjoyed her chilled strawberry soup, fresh orange juice and strada. Afterwards Carole & Gordie took time to chat with us and we felt like family. We've stayed in many B&Bs over the years both in the US and Europe. We think Carole and Gordie have the right approach and recommend a visit if Appleton is on your itinerary.

Loved this B&B
By ,
This is a beautiful and friendly place to stay. Carol and Gordy are the hosts. Carol had handmade quilts for every room and her great color sense is on display. The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent (homemade granola, yum). Carol and Gordy are a wonderful couple; we had to tear ourselves away in the morning.

Loved The Appleton Inn
By ,
The first time my boyfriend & I stayed at The Appleton Inn was a suprise for me for my birthday. We both loved it and stayed there 2 more times and plan on staying there again. Carol and Gordie are very nice and friendly people. They make you feel "at home" in their home. The house is beautiful and well kept. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the breakfasts are excellent. You always feel relaxed, welcome & "at home" when you stay there. My boyfriend & I wuld recommend staying at The Appleton Inn to anyone who would like a relaxing stay & meeting two very nice people. Ron S & Deb M

What a great experience!!
By ,
I absolutely loved the Inn, Carol & Gordie and my whole entire experience. I think of it often and wish I could make it an annual or even semi-annual experience. I purchased a quilt shop and THEN I needed to learn to quilt.. what a hoot! I called for some information & Carol strongly *suggested* I come ASAP. So, that is what I did. My class was small so we got super-special attention from Carol even though the day I arrived she had a freshly broken foot! Gordie totally pitched in and cooked for us and made us all feel so very much at home. Learned a ton of what has become most invaluable information and it is truly an experience I will never forget. I refer to my experience often and I am grateful I got to go.

An annual affair
By ,
My quilt club spent the weekend at the Quilt N Be in Appleton. Carol and Gordie were gracious hosts, the breakfasts were wonderful and the accomodations were perfect. We had the third floor with a small kitchen, livingroom and sewing room. The bedrooms were clean and very, very comfy decorated with Carol's touches of handmade quilts and pillows. We sewed, laughed, slept, laughed, ate, laughed and oh, did I mention that we laughed? We all hated to leave but are looking very forward to our next retreat.
