Clearwater Cabins, Onalaska

Loved the natural lakefront and the quiet, relaxing waterfront. Great bird watching and used the kayaks and canoes for free! Cabins were very clean with minimal furnishings but all we needed. It was a great place for a family getaway. Would love to go back when we can.

This was not what we expected!!! The cabin had stained and dirty old furniture and it smelled really musty - guess they haven't heard of putting money back into their business. The lake was disgusting - covered with a green algea like film.

Resort was just what we were after. Perfect area on the river to bird watch. The Bald Eagles, and we saw lots of Eagles, sailing in the sky was unbelivable. It was fun watching all the different birds from Pin Tails, Mallards, Gadwall, Teal and those big Canadians flying all over the place. Thank you Gary for a great place to stay, clean and comfortable! My husband and I had a family function to attend in La Crosse on Sunday. We thought it would be nice to get away for a couple of extra days and just relax. I found Clearwater on the web and called to book a room. Gary was wonderful from the phone conversation thru the duration of our stay. We were very surprised just how nice the cabin we stayed in was, quite frankly, we were not expecting that. It is very peaceful and a beautiful lake setting. It was close enough to venture out and do other things. We would definately return again if we are in the area. We did not have the opportunity to meet Donna. And once again Gary, we would like to appologize for the shower curtain.

I just returned from staying at Clearwater Cabins. The cabin was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is great, on the waterfront with a beautiful view of Lake Onalaska, close to the city, yet in a country setting. On a clear night the stars are spectacular. I highly recommend these cabins for those who enjoy nature. The fishing was also excellent. I will return.

Our visit to Clearwater Cabins was really nice, we had a great time there and plan on returning. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. The cabin that we stayed in was decorated really nice and was perfect for the two of us. It was very clean and cozy. We loved the peace and quiet, it was very relaxing and a great place to spend a few days away from the busy city life. We plan on taking our boys with us next time and they let us look at the 2 bedroom that they just got done decorating, it was very very nice and had lots of room for the 4 of us to spend a few days and yet have our own space. We really enjoyed our stay, and plan to go back soon, Gary and his wife work extremely hard to keep the place nice and it really showed, they were very nice and really know lots about the area. It was really hard to leave and come back to the city.

When we arrived, Gary was the nicest guy anybody could meet, if you had any questions about anything like how to get to the bike trail, he actually got on his motorcycle to show you exactly where to go. When you asked for a place to eat, he recommended 2 great restaurants. The fishing on this lake is awesome, I will be concentrating on that a lot more the next time I come up that is for sure. Of all of the places I have stayed, Gary and his wife were by far the kindest innkeepers we have ever met, if you needed anyhting they helped you if they could. I called my buddy that I fish with all the time and told him about the great fishing my wife and I had duirng our 10th anniversary. Will be aiming to go back in the spring and fall for YEARS to COME.

Fishing was great, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Wonderful retreat from the busy city life. Very quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous sunset and sunrise!
