Recompence Shore Campsites, Freeport

I just got back from a 2 night stay at the Recompence Campground. It was suppose to be a 3 night stay. This campground says it has flush toilets and coin operated showers. That is true. It has 3 two stall bathrooms for the entire campground. There are well over a hundred sites with average 4 or 5 people each.During my stay 3 of the toilets were stopped up. They have 6 showers. During my stay 2 were out of order. And the cleanliness left MUCH to be desired. It also states it has "excellently maintained" outhouses throughout the camp. This is not true in my opinion. Oh, they are throughout the campground, but they are disgusting. That being said, the views are beautiful. There is ALOT of car traffic, probably people trying to visit the facilities because they couldn't suffer the outhouses. If the bathroom facilities aren't important to you, then this campground is right on the bay and has some beautiful sites with views. But if you are relying on the "ammenities" I suggest you look elsewhere.
