Always a good time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/11
From the time I signed in to the time I left, I was treated as part of the family. The site was ready for me and was clean. I love the new additions that were done. Yes, they have gone up in price, but the amenities are worth it. If I could, I would go seasonal! Thank you to everyone, for making it an enjoyable place to go!

Fantastic Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/11
We camped here many years ago and were pleasantly suprised with the many upgrades and improvements to a once dismal park. If i could give this campground more than 5 stars, I would! The place is incredibly clean, even after visiting after Irene hit. There wasn't even a branch out of place. I love what they are doing with the bathrooms/showers. Great look for an Adirondack campgound! The staff couldn't be more helpful...everything from filling our empty propane tank to cutting a branch so that we could manuever easier upon arrival. The store is well stocked for our forgotten toothbrush and Hershey bars for smores. The kids loved the hayride and craft activities that were planned. Nice touch since when we camped with the old owners, there was nothing available like that. After reading some other reviews about a damaged camper from the storm and being kicked out for not following the rules, I am amazed. For the tree in the camper issue...to put that responsibility on the campground owners is just ridiculous. I would think that you would want to check on your own property. I'm sure that the owners wouldn't want to remove a tree from your camper (insurance purposes??). and to blame it on the owners for an act of God is even more ridiculous. As far as the being kicked out review..there are rules for a reason. It's a family park and there is pride in keeping it that way. Some people really need to just get out and camp...enjoy the Adirondacks. King Phillips is perfect for just that! Can't wait to go back again.

LOVE King Phillips
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/11
It's too bad that there was so much damage for some to endure. I saw so much of the effects of "Irene" after this storm and how many people were employed (at King Phillips) and how hard they worked. We were amazed that by Friday of Labor Day weekend this place was put back together whereas you could not tell there was a bad storm, other than the obvious damage... that you also saw across the state. We love this place and have NEVER experienced any rudeness what so ever. We hate to see the season end!

Rude front desk!!
By Leah Murphy, 8/27/11
The front desk staff were beyond rude. When I called on the phone to ask a few questions she acted as if I was bothering her, she was snippy and and unhelpful. They gave my husband a horrible time when checking in. She then gave our guest a difficult time and when I went to the office to help my guest check in she was unprofessional and had shockingly bad manners and had the audacity to tell me my husband was "difficult and rude" to her! His attitude was only in response to her terrible manners and rude, unprofessional demeanor. She practically interrogated my guest asking her inappropriate and unnecessary questions about our stay. "Why are you here? Are you related? What will you be doing?" That woman put a BAD taste in our mouths for an otherwise nice park. There are MANY other family owned campgrounds who would be more than happy for your business and happy to see you. From other reviews: "The older women at the front desk is terrible and even the workers there said she has a terrible personality." "Called to make reservations for 4 adults and the woman on the phone was incredibly rude. Her tone was not acceptable for any form of customer service and kept sighing as if I had inconvenienced her." "Office manager was snide and intransigent. Campclubusa members are relegated to crappy sites. There are better places. Thank goodness we called to talk to her - it would have been a very unpleasant meeting after a 500+ mile trip to find out that what a previous staff member told us was not true. She was unapologetic and rude."

Love it here!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/11
I get a kick out of people who take the low road when they've got nothing else to justify their senseless remarks. Mabey when you become an adult, you'll understand that the world does not revolve around just you. You'd probably be the first to complain if someone woke your baby up at 2 am...If you were making too much noise at 2 am, you probably needed to be told to quiet down, .....because the night was all about you?... to hell with everyone else. I don't know the owners and their help very well... but what I do know, they ALWAYS leave you alone and are as helpful and responsive to everyones needs. This place is NOT MICRO MANAGED as far as the guests go...but what is micro managed, are the facilities.... they couldn't be better. These people run a really good campground! Their repeat campers and sold out sites prove it! Sorry if I've offended you! Go to bed!

Five stars and would give more!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/11
Some of these comments about King Phillips are ridiclious on this website. I have been camping at King Phillips for a long time. and for anyone that wants to come here camping the campground is very neat and clean the sites are well maintained. Since Mike and Debbie took over there have been alot of good changes here and alot of activities for kids. The office staff is very nice and helpful. You need to remember it is a family park not a teenage park and if teenagers are comming to the tent section drinking to all hours and being loud and having spotlights on the trees shining in to other people tents and campers. its evident you are getting kicked out as you are being rude to the neihbors. Quite time is 11pm not 2 in the am. the nighttime security is also very helpful and very nice he is very fair and will tell you to quite down after 11 its policy if you are being loud if you are not quite or will not settle down when asked be prepared to deal with consequences as this is a famiy park. its funny when you can say things about peoples life when you dont even know them and isnt this site for reivews on the campground not staff members. People should definately come to the campground you wont be disapointed. theres alot to do and alot of good people here who want to keep it a family park. come and enjoy the good life here at the phillips. its a place to relax and enjoy what camping is about.

Didn't even get to give them a chance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/11
Called to make reservations for 4 adults and the woman on the phone was incredibly rude. Her tone was not acceptable for any form of customer service and kept sighing as if I had inconvenienced her. She told me I couldn't go camping at their resort because we had one adult under 21, and that the minimum age for camping in NY is 21. Couldn't get any further explanation, but I heard her swear to her buddy as she hung up on me. This "rule" is complete garbage, I have never had a problem camping in New York before and quickly took my business elsewhere where they did not turn us away or even question us for having one 20 year old.
