Our favorite place one earth
By ,
We have visited Paul & Donna since our 1st Anniversary. We try to get up there twice a year, and every time we have been met like favorite family. Their attention to detail is impecible. The rooms are ultra comfortable, the sheets and towels amazing and Pauls culinary skills are exceptional. The best rooms, the best se4rvice, the best blueberry maritinis and by far the best dining experience in the area. Looking forward to our next stay. John & Lisa Oakdale CT

We've stayed at Chapman Cottage 2x (so far)and loved each stay. Our first stay was in Elizabeth's Room. Small, sweet, cozy. Our second stay was in the Chapman Suite. The room was exquisite! The bathroom was spectacular! How great to turn on the fireplace and sit in the jacuzzi tub! Paul and Donna are wonderfull innkeepers. As was said in another review, they are there if you need them and not there if you don't. The breakfasts are beyond wonderful. Especially the cranberry muffins! We recommend this B&B highly and without reservation! Can't wait to go back again this year. Only problem is that now we are spoiled and only want the suites!

Fantastic B and B
By ,
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We stayed in the Mercer room for 4 nights. It was great. Beautiful room and terrific bathroom with fireplaces and a 2 person jacuzzi tub and separate glass shower. The rooms were spotless, the hosts were very friendly. The gourmet breakfasts each morning were simply delicious! The sheets were the softest we have ever felt. This is the best we have ever slept away from home. We cannot recommend this b and b enough. If you are hestitant to stay at a B and B, this will make you forget all about that. Best hotel/ B and B we have ever stayed at. You will enjou every minute of staying here!

Absolutely wonderful
By ,
Beautiful place--nice without being stuffy. Some of the softest sheets and towels I've ever felt, and tons of little treats (sherry and truffles, fresh fruit, fresh flowers). We had fireplaces in the bedroom and bathroom--perfect little weekend. Donna and Paul are incredibly kind and down-to-earth, and Paul's cooking is outstanding (and I'm pretty darn picky). No real dislikes. Their "harbor views" are a bit of a stretch (more distant than expected), but I had a wonderful, wonderful time.

The rooms were spotless!

I loooove the Chapman Cottage! It was one of the best experiences of my life. My husband and I stayed here on our honey moon and we just fell inlove with this beautiful Bed & Breakfast! It is so warm and inviting. The staff was incredible and made us feel right at home. One thing that really stood out at the Chapman Cottage was our chamber maid. She was this cute little blonde and i believe her name is Lauren Strnum or something like that. Anyway, kootos you her and everyone else who works at the Chapman Cottage. It was a beautiful place to stay and my husband Nick and I will be back this summer. P.S. We would like to request Lauren Sternum to be our chambermaid. She was so sweet and friendly. She gave us directions to all of the great torist attractions! Sincerly, Jennifer Mercurio and Nick Mercurio P.S. See you soon! :-)

So glad i tried it
By ,
After reading a previous review of Chapman Cottage, I was not sure what to expect. My wife and I were celebrating our 2nd anniversary and were expecting to unwind. She had already made the reservations when I learned that Chapman Cottage was by someone's opinion "not a good place to laugh". I must admit, I was hessitant. Needless to say...when we arrived last weekend it was the best trip I have ever had. Great food, good company (we spent all evening talking with Paul and Donna in their beautiful tappas bar), the rooms were so comfortable my wife wanted to bring it home. Here's a hint, the pictures just dont do it justice. And at breakfast the next day, I finally found out why Paul and Donna go to bed at 10:30. Breakfast was made from scratch that morning. Cinnamon rolls, sausage, the best egg suffle I think I could ever eat (my first by the way). Hot, fresh and plentiful Chapman Cottage coffee. All in all, I would highly suggest this B&B. The person who wrote that other review must have a stick up their rear, or be very self centered. We will be back next year (we made reservations before we left).

First time B&Ber
By ,
can't say anything but good thing. Breakfast to die for, Paul takes the most simple item and turns it into a work of art.Donna & Paul are there if you need them and not if you don't.if you wanted to you really don't have to leave the cottage. It has a nice resturant and nice little bar. I do have to say it's not waterfront but you are a very short walk to a nice waterfront stroll.for my first time at a B&B I was Pleasantly suprised so much that I'm planning a trip again in april.oyah if you think the price per night is a little high the breakfast is well worth the extra.

never go there again
By ,
Our visit at this B&B was like going back to geade school and meeting that cranky old teacher you'd like to foget. Our group had occupied 4 of the six rooms during off season. We are close friends and get together once a year.We are not drunks or rowdy. The atmosphere was like that of a funeral parlor.Constantly being reprimanded to be considerate of others in the Inn.The cook (and owner as well) would smoke in the back of the B&B and his second hand smoke would drift up into our room. That's what I call considerate!! We have been to many B&B's but this was the most unpleasant experience by far. If your looking for a good plaace to stay with friendly, pleasant host, skip this one!

An Enchanting Getaway for a Singular Type of Consumer
By ,
The Chapman Cottage would be an ideal getaway for either a honeymoon couple or people celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. The rooms were delightfully appointed with a air of oppulence and luxury. The dining experience was flawless. However, the Chapman Cottage could never be considered a gathering place where families or friends could delight in the wonders of each others company and the 'air of elegance and oppulence.' The innkeepers prefer guests that are solitary, antisocial, and retire at 10:30. If laughter is important to you,it will be important to chose a different location.
