Knotty Pine Motel, Bennington

Chose the Knotty Inn because of it being family owned and opperated. The owners were more than friendly and accomidating during our stay. My husband and I stayed there during a snow storm and the owners cleared the snow right away and took care of the place nicely. They put their guests first and we will for sure be staying here again in the future.

We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the central location and the size of the rooms. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The convenience of a central computer was greatly appreciated.Spent one relaxing afternoon around the pool. We will definitely stay there again when we visit the area.

Just returned from Vt. where my husband, dog, and I stayed in an efficiency at the Knotty Pine. Super clean, "enough" amernities to make it comfortable, great bed. I'd like them to move the highway but since the room was quiet and more bucolic areas were only 10 minutes away, it was fine. Friendly, helpful owner, great price-for fancy and expensive, go somewhere else. If you like making your own plans and want a decent, inexpensive place to chill-try it. We'll certainly return.

I like staying here because it is a family owned and oppereted bussines. Being family orenated is something I look for. When I travel to vermont I always stay here. I am now 30 and I have always gone to the knotty pine. It is a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed for a week along with our quiet Jack Russell dogs. The motel is not the Waldorf Astoria, but was nice and always kept clean by the motels friendly staff. There is also food within walking distance if you get hungry. If we return to the area we would definetely stay again.

The accommodations at the hotel and the professionalism of the staff made this a wonderful "leaf color" weekend. The room was spotless, and the location of the Knotty Pine was perfect. We will definitely go back.

I stayed at this hotel this month. The room was just a basic room without frills but my experience with the management was the worst. I live in California and was in Vt. to visit one of my sons. I asked the morning of the 6th if I could have a little later checkout time to spend some more time with my son. The gentleman at the desk agreed to let me have a couple of hours extra saying they weren't very busy anyway. When I got back to the hotel around 12:30 and took my key to the desk a woman told me that I would have to pay for a extra day because I was late. The man was nowhere in evidence and even though I told her that I was told I could have a later check out she insisted that I would have to pay and wouldn't acknowledge that I had permission or check with her co-worker. If I had known that this would have happened I would have packed my stuff and gotten out of the room before 11am. She went ahead and charged my card. I asked my mom to call the motel to try to reason with them. The person who answered the phone stated she was the owner. When she heard mom's request to reverse the charges she refused and said the maids had gone home and the charge would stand. She at first acknowledged that I had asked for a later checkout then denied it and hung up on mom. Mom had to call her back to get her name then she hung up on mom again. I will never stay here again

And I mean that seriously. No, it's not the most expensive place you could stay at, but that's a point in its favor, considering all it has to offer for the cost. Everything was fantastic, from the customer service, to the room, to the pool, to the location, to the amenities, to the cleanliness, to the price, to the friendliness of all of its staff--front desk and cleaning included. It was Labor Day weekend (very busy), and yet the price was half that of other motels/hotels in the area. So I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, just a comfy place to rest en route to our final vacation destination. What we found instead was a place we would stay at again and again. Heck, we might plan a trip around Bennington now, just to be able to stay there. It's probably also worth mentioning that it's right down the street from maybe the best Chinese takeout I've ever found. I think the place is called Lucky Star or something like that. Definitely worth a visit. Anyway, five stars out of five. Ten out of ten. As many out of however many stars are included in the ratings here. Positively not one single thing to complain about. Well done, Knotty Pine! We'll most certainly be back!

We had a very nice stay here. The rooms are older but very clean with newer furnishings. The front desk staff was very knowledgable about the area. A really good value.

I have been at this motel in the past with a wonderful stay,the staff was so nice, I just got back from another stay and the staff is rude knocking on my door asking if they can clean it.if they only did! it isn't what it was a year ago,I would rather pay extra for a clean room at hampton inn
