Black Swan Inn, Pocatello

We stayed in the Mayan room and it was absolutely beautiful and very well done. Our only complaint was that it was very dark and the lights to the waterfalls were out. The young lady at the front desk could not replace the lights and we were disappointed that we could not enjoy and see that part of the room. I would have appreciated a service person that could of came and replaced the burned out lights.....

We stayed in the Mayhan room. OMG!!! the neatest room I have ever been in. Everything was as expected.. Quite, dark, and very romantic... It was the second night as husband and wife. Throughly enjoyed the relaxing of the jacuzzi tub after the stress of the wedding.

What a fun place!!! During a recent visit, I asked for a tour through most of the rooms. I’ll have to say that the Web photos are very accurate, but actually seeing each suite was amazing. What talent and imagination the owners had to create such a wonderful place that takes you away to another place when you enter each suite and close the door behind you. We stayed in the Tropical Paradise suite, and the waterfall and optional tropical sounds were great. And turning down the lights while floating in the Jacuzzi in front of the waterfall…was so relaxing. I felt that our stay was worth the price. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. All the suites were clean and just amazing to see. The front lobby had been remodeled within the last year and was spacious and very charming. I was concerned about noise from the waterfall and Jacuzzi’s, but the overall construction is very solid and when I stood outside in the hallway by the door…I could not hear a sound. So if you want something different, need to relax, release all your stress, and are in the area…this is the place to go. Have fun!!!

We have been three times (and have the 4th planned in a couple of months). The rooms are well-decorated, clean and fresh, and very romantic. We can't wait until there are more rooms to choose from!

there's no lobby to check into...just a tiny closet like area my wife and I had to cram into to check in. room was a dissapointment. comforter was torn and extremely worn. paint was chipped. carpet was stained. hairs in the tub, around the toilet and the sheets. fire place was horrendously loud with hardly a flame. tub over flowed. stale breakfast..if you can call a roll wrapped in plastic breakfast.no sparkling cider, dessert, ice pop or vending machine. the deal breaker? the screaming baby next door! not romantic. not relaxing. won't be back...and neither should you!

I recently traveled to Pocatello to visit relatives on the way to Yellowstone National Park. My sister-in-law made the reservations at the Black Swan Inn, and I have to admit I thought it might be a cheesy place to stay. On the contrary, each and every room is a delightful treasure! The owners have gone out of their way to include many details in the theme of each room. I had the Cave Room, for example, and the lighting was indeed cavelike, with a waterfall coming out of a "crack" in the cave roof for a shower. The hotel amenities are imaginative, the staff is extremely friendly and service-oriented, and best of all these were the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. I highly recommend this inn to anyone who is looking for a retreat, not just a place to sleep for the night.

First, they gave us the wrong room. Then they moved our stuff to a new room without permission. Other than that it was nice, although I felt $199 was a bit pricey for the room and the area. Just make sure everything is okay BEFORE you go to dinner.

The nightly "gift basket" is a very nice touch. The rooms are outstanding and are well equipped. We stayed in both the Rocky Mountain Suite and The Egyptian Suite. Both are awesome! This is the perfect romantic getaway. Do not hesitate to book this!
