Atlantis Oceanfront Inn, Gloucester

Visited Cape Ann and stayed at the Atlantis Inn on Atlantic Road, the scenic shore drive. Just a 10 minute walk along the rocky shore line took us to beautiful Good Harbor Beach, one of the best In Gloucester. A 10 minute drives to the waterfront, downtown or to the charming village of Rockport and the funky Rocky Neck art colony. In my opinion this is the best hotel accommodations on Cape Ann! Spectacular Views, private patios or decks, beautifully appointed rooms with flat screen TVs, Wifi, wonderful dining room (breakfast only) and a sparkling Oceanfront pool! The rooms were spotless and appeared to be newly renovated. Lots of bright white towels and a nice size refrigerator made it easy to extend our stay for an extra few days. Can’t wait to go back!

Two words: Simply amazing. Liked: everything. Disliked: nothing. Tom was terrific. Can't wait to go back again; it's great! I would definitely recommend it to others. I wish we had stayed longer.

Loved my time at the Atlantis! View of the twin lighthouses was awesome and you could watch the sunrise over the sea if you wanted to get up early and sit out on the balcony. The room was spotless and came with a fridge which was nice. Nice walking, jogging sidewalk out front along the ocean was popular with locals and guests. Not far from a great beach and there are many places to kayak on the Cape as well. I also enjoyed the breakfast restaurant, the food and service were wonderful. I would go back and stay longer if I could!

After contemplating several inns and motels in Gloucester, Ma, I chose the Atlantis based on the reviews I read here and other Internet travel sites. I was certainly not disappointed! We stayed at the Atlantis with our 12 year old son the first week in June. This motel is by far the most well-kept, clean and beautifully maintained place I have ever stayed. I'd guess the rooms were recently remodeled as there wasn't one sign of wear and and tear on the bedding, furniture or fixtures. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a spectacular ocean view. Our double room featured 2 double beds (not queens) a small table and 2 chairs and an entertainment center that housed a small fridge and storage for clothing, etc. The room has a large closet as well - bring hangars though. Only 4 hangars were provided. The room had a small flat screen tv with cable access. Dvd players can be borrowed from the front desk at no charge. The only real issue with the room was the bathroom which was very tiny and dids not contain a bathtub. Shower stall only. There is also no room to store toiletries and such in the bathroom as there is no vanity top. This is by no means a real problem, just something to consider if multiple people are staying in the room. Each room has a semi-private balcony with a window and door that allows you to enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds of the surf. The balcony has 2 deck chairs and a table. The outdoor pool is heated and very well maintained. There's plenty of deck chairs and chaise loungers. The hosts at the front desk are super accomodating and very friendly. The front desk has menus from many area restaurants and the staff is happy to make recommendations. Discount parking passes for nearby (walking distance) Good Harbor Beach are also available at the front desk. Stop by in the afternoon for warm cookies too! I'd recommend the Atlantis to anyone and would certainly return if I had the chance. If you are considering staying at the pricier but similar neighboring Bass Rocks Inn, save your money for the many local attractions (whale watching, great seafood dinners or nearby Salem and Plymouth). You won't be disappointed!

The views are superb, the place is spotlessly clean, the breakfast cafe is second to none (try their Lobster Eggs Benedict!). Can't wait to go back next year and stay for a week.

Just got back from the Coast. What an experience! The last two days were the best two days. Stayed at three different motels, all on the coast and chose Atlantis last. What an awesome motel. The view is breathtaking. The price is right. The room was clean, updated, service outstanding. And yes the cafe has great food. The whole surrounding is clean and very relaxing. It will definitly draw me back for a longer relaxing stay. Atlantis staff, maintain your high standards. This will be our motel of choice for the future and will recommend to anyone who ask. Location is perfect to get to downtown. Great location to sightsee from or just stay and enjoy the sight right from your room. The view is the best. Current technology. Great atmosphere.

We just got home from a 3 night stay at the Inn. The view from the balcony was wonderful! The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. If you get a chance to go make sure you visit the Cafe for a great breakfast.

This will be our 7th season going to Gloucester and for all but one season we've stayed at the Atlantis. The rooms are very clean and completely functional. The view is amazing and you can hear the ocean all day and night. The pricing is more than competetive in the area. The only other places we've stayed Bed and Breakfasts have been 2-2.5X times as much and we can't justify that. Yes, the rooms are not the fanciest in town but they are more than nice enough for a comfortable relaxing stay in Gloucester. Besides, We only spent evenings and early mornings in the room and were out busy doing things like Whale Watch, Hammond Castle, Beaches, Deep Sea fishing, Clipper Cruises, fine dining, harbor/lighthouse tours and of course every year our visit to Nichols Candies. Gloucester is a beautiful area. One in which I wish I could live but if I'm only alowed to visit it'll be at the Atlantis Motor Inn. Now don't everyone book the week that we want to go. 8^)

Wow! Less expensive than the BW Bass Rocks Inn (right next door), this fit our trip perfectly! We were right on Atlantic Rd. It's the lawn of the inn, the road, and then rocks and ocean! You could hear the waves on the rocks from the balcony. We had a top floor room in the building away from the pool. I would suggest asking for that...there were some loud older folks in the pool that were disruptive to the ambience. Make sure you aren't on the lower floor...no view as the rooms are almost basement level. Ask for the top floor or middle floor. Top is better in my opinion. The balconies are not "private" in that they are closed off from the others. But, there is a half-wall between them so it's semi-private. We were on the end, so, we ended up sleeping with the door open and locking the screen door, and keeping the window open. We didn't worry about anyone walking by. When the windows/door slats (entry door) are open, the breeze is PHENOMENAL! Everything was very clean and well-kept. Very nice to see that at a beach-type resort. Oh - be sure to ask for discount parking for beaches if you go to Good Harbor beach...$20 parking!!! We ended up going to Salisbury Beach via Ipswich and Route 1. Nice drive, about an hour, great scenery and environment with the small town/antique feel. Breakfast restaurant was SPECTACULAR! We had oatmeal honey pancakes that day...awesome! Great prices, lots of food, good food! I have a peanut/tree nut allergy and the head chef took very good care of me checking into all the ingredients, she really cared and called to check up on me that morning. To me, that's spectacular customer service. All in all, we will come back and stay there again. We had a fabulous full-moon rise over the ocean, so great! Again, I suggest the top floor, building away from the pool, end-unit and making your stay around the full moon to get that moon-rise! 5-stars plus!

I have stayed at the Atlantis every summer now, for the last 5 or 6 years since we "discovered" this gem of a property. The ocean view is phenomenal, and you can hear the waves crashing at night! The staff is super courteous and the cafe breakfast is delicious!I will go here to unwind, recharge and soothe my soul, until I am a very old lady! Pat in NH
