Good Harbor Beach Inn, Gloucester

I had my wedding reception here, in the court yard. We rented out the whole motel for all of our guests to stay and had the best time ever! Dennis the owner was more than gracious and wonderful!

spent wonderful childhood vacations in the 60s. went back with friends. so sad it's gone to pieces. beach still glorious. waves rocked us to sleep. low prices attract noisy neighbors. sad to say, won't be going back. i don't look for fancy or upscale, but missing tiles in bathroom are fine for a friend's house, but not a motel. wake up little motel: get it together!

I booked "online" so had no preconception. I just wanted to be someplace affordable, on the beach. At 1st I was disapointed with the room. Very old, not like the "hotels" we normally stayed at. But after 1 night listening to the ocean, I didn't care that the room was more like going to camp than 4 star. There was a new owner, and he was making over the room next to ours as his little place. He was very nice,gave great suggestions for dining etc, I have no idea what the place is like now. There are "good" rooms with great ocean views, and others not so great.(no view) If you just want to relax on the beach, liked camping , and just need a place to sleep and change clothes, while you are either enjoying the area or walking the beach..this will work for you

WE IN ROOM 14 A FEW WEEKS BACK THE RATES WENT UP BUT NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE ROOM IT WAS STILL OLD STUFF THE ROOM HAD A GREAT VIEW AND THE STAFF WAS NICE

Stayed there two weeks ago. The oldness of the place is its charm, kind of funky! If you're looking for the Plaza, this ain't it. I'd go back there in a minute for the beach, but not when tourist season is in full swing. DD

Have been staying here for 10 years. It's great being right on the beach, but it gets more expensive but upkeep not there. Old, things break, lights flicker off and on, not as dedicated staff as when privately run...too bad.

back in 2005 my wife and i went and check out the good harbor beach inn and it was a beautiful place but needed work but in may of 2008 we heard that a new owner had it we went back in 8-2008 and it was the best time we had on a vacation the new owner fixed it up the paint job was great the rooms look great he did a lot of upgrades and the place is a lot better now the new owner was a very nice guy down to earth and made sure everthing was great for us he even help us with are bags and the housekeepers did a great job WE LOVE IT AND WE CANT WAIT TO GO BACK IN JULY OF 2009 IN TO THE SAME ROOM ROOM 3

My wife my dog and I loved our recent stay. the staff was fantastic and was always friendly even though they were quite busy getting ready for the summer slam. The weather did not matter,we still had a fab time. We could tell that the staff took pride in their work by their great attitude. We stayed in room 8 which was just what worked for us with our elderly Pug.The dog voiced no complaints. This place was simply a joy to be at ,and it is our sincere hope we get a chance to return,knowing full well reservations are made way in advance.I would highly recommend this esablishment any time of year thanks so much Rich Linda Mickey

This hotel was under new ownership when we visited. The new owners and staff were wonderful and very accommodating, even going out of their way to provide us w/ a coffee maker for our room since there wasn't one when we arrived. The rates were actually very inexpensive -- we stayed the last 3 days before the rates went up for the summer, so we had great summer weather while paying spring prices. The rooms were not fancy, but we were there for the beach and views. We had amazing ocean views and the sound of waves and ocean mist coming into our room at night and early morning was so relaxing! We're planning on returning slightly off season every single spring and fall! We loved it!!

Our family has been going to Good Harbor for over 25 years! The Inn is nothing fancy, but it is right on the beach. The same families go every year, so it has become our home away from home. Very relaxing vacation, and the Inn is located on the private side of the beach so it is doesn't get as crowded. We have been to other vacation spots, but the kids love it here best.
