Keep the lights on & the bed turned down for us

After reading an article in the New York Times about poets and their paradise I called my sister to see if she was up to traveling to Cape Cod to visit Mary Oliver's sanctuary of parks, wildlife, and the sea in Provincetown, Ma. She was game and I selected a charming Bed & Breakfast on the internet-- Gabriel's. Most suites were named after famous, accomplished women and one after the innkeepers' son, Christopher.
From the pictures on the internet, we expected well appointed, comfortable rooms. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the Susan which was a terrific suite for my sister and me. It had a king bed as well as a sleep sofa which worked nicely for my sister Liz, my pug Lucy Ricardo and me.
What was an unexpected surprise were the two innkeepers....Elizabeth and Elizabeth. They were a complete delight--welcoming and determined to make every guest feel at home. Another treat were the great conversations at "Gabriels' Table" during breakfast. The conversations range from politics to great restaurants to things to do in Provincetown. The guests-- from every walk of life.
After a few short days at Gabriel's my sister and I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated having throughly enjoyed Provincetown, Gabriels and the Elizabeths who are Provincetown's greatest Ambassadors.
Pulitzer Prize Poet, Mary Oliver is so right--what a wonderful place to live or in our case, to visit.
