Edgewood Manor Inn and Hotel, Providence

We loved the inn Edgewood Manor . We have stayed at some of the inns in town and they just can't compare . The Edgewood Manor first of all is in a great location near Roger Williams Park and the Botanical Gardens . We visited both when we were there. Its an easy stroll down beautiful norwood ave and right into the Park. Let me first say the architecture of the Edgewood Manor is truly amazing. Each room on the first floor is uniquely different so the foyer when you walk in has an amazing ceiling with all hand carved wood and a beautiful fireplace which was going when we arrived. The formal dining room though was our favourite room, with hand carved oak from floor to just about ceiling and the flloor was all tile a special tile Grueby which was beautiful. Eating breakfast in this room made me feel like we were in a castle in England . The library was lovely that is where we had a" spot of tea" you might say. There was a roaring fire going in that room as well. Can you say ambiance WE sat there for a few hours talking with other guests losing track of time and enjoyed every minute of it. The room we stayed in well- it had a jacuzzi and all marble bathroom and was super clean,it also had a large gothic king size bed with a small cleverly disquised refridgerator endtable(great for storing) large dinner leftovers from Providences awesome restaurants and other snacks and drinks. The name of the room was the carrerra it was on the third floor just wish there was an elevator. Great Mansion Great stay,and we will return.....

The Edgewood Manor INN was fantastic. The antiques and original character of the entire inn was truly amazing. The service was excellent and the restaurant Basta around the corner was scrumtious but that is for another review. Our breakfast prepared by Joy was lovely with a fresh fruit cup prior to the main course of stuffed french toast and egss florentine. Joys blueberry corn muffins are enough to make you return to Edgewood Manor . The location was great closee to Roger Williams Park a nice victorian park that was well preserved . Parking was a plus here we have stayed at some inns where parking is tight and down right insufficient especially in Providence.

We've stayed at the Edgewood Manor a few times but this time, we stayed next door at the Newhall House. Andy (the owner) was super nice and greeted us like we were old friends. Andy met us in Edgewood Manor and walked us over to Newhall House. We stayed in the Elms Suite. When I opened the door to the room, my jaw dropped. It was BIG! There's a hallway in the suite with two separate bedrooms and a large bathroom. The bedrooms have high, period beds (there really needs to be a step stool in the rooms!) The bathroom has a shower stall and a jetted tub. It was so relaxing! Breakfast the next morning was unbelievable. We started with freshly baked blueberry muffins. Then, we were offered fruit cups. After that course came eggs, bacon, and pancakes (mine were banana but you had a choice.) So yummy! Plus, all the coffee/tea/juice that you could ever want. There's also a cereal bar (which is nice for children.) My son is a super picky eater but he ate the pancakes that Joy made for him. Success! Joy (the chef) was pleasant and added some humor to our breakfast. Sitting in the gorgeous dining room and chatting with other guests added to the whole ambiance. I felt like royalty (Downton Abbey, anyone?) We will definitely stay again. I do prefer to be in the main house so that I can have a cup of tea in the lovely sitting area near the fireplace in the evening. I highly recommend the Edgewood Manor B&B.

This was truly a majestic inn with beautiful appointments. I loved the original music room (just wish they had a piano in there) it would have been a magical thing. The scarlets retreat was lovely with a wood burning fireplace that was so cozy. The bed was fantastic and quite comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. The next morning we awoke to the smell of Joys cooking which was delicious. We dined in the formal dining room (which felt like a castle) . Joy made some great blueberry corn muffins which came fresh out of the oven. Next came the main course of eggs florentine .Can you say yummy... We loved everything about Edgewood Manor. The innkeeper gave us some great dinner advice and we had a lovely dinner close to the inn. The inn was close to Roger Williamd Park and Zoo and the Botanical Gardens which was open in the winter so we checked them both out . It was a really nice trip and we enjoyed everything we hope to return soon.

The Edgewood Manor INN was a great choice . First let me say we have been to them all in the providence area and none campare to Edgewood Manor. Our daughter is a RISD and this is her junior year after having stayed in other accomodations we were fortunate enough to find this lovely historic inn called Edgewood Manor . The location was good just 3 miles fromn the schools campus and jujst an easy drive . The rooms at Edgewood Manor were spectacular, clean ,fresh and beautifully appointed. We stayed in the victorian room it had a fireplace(real wood ) what a nice touch to have these days. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful (Jo)y was really awesome we had some special dietary needs we she took care of in a jiffy. The innkeeper Ellie she was right on about the restaurants and gave us some great itinerary to check out the areas of Rhode Island that we have not seen on our previous visits. All in all This Place is Proividence's best kept secret although it is hardly a secret the3 inn was jammed out and we were happy that we got a room. We already booked for thanksgiving time again and will be staying here for the next year or so.

Edgewood Manor was like staying in a small museum but only when can you really ever do that. The furnishings were the right blend of antiques and comfortable funiture to enjoy. The mansion beds in each room were better that the next. We stayed in a jacuzzi room with a fabulous bathroom the( colonial room) The room was truly spectacular . The bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom with his and hers vanities and a large double jacuzzi and walk in marble shower. The breakfast was superb with homemade muffins to die for and afternoon chocolate chip cookies with tea. The dinner recommendations were great from the innkeepr ellie and her help with ideas on what to do and see were great . We got to meet the owner Andrew who was a true preservationist and visionary to bring this property to its former glory. We live in an older hoouse from the 20's and appreciate the dedication it takes to preserve and maintain these beautiful properties. Truly one of Rhode Islands Gems and a must stay when in Providence Rhode Island.

My daughter and I arrived on a late flight from California and found convenient off street parking in this marvelous stylish mansion. Andy was kind enough to give us the code to get in so we went straight up to the Palladian room and spent 4affordable nights in the comfortable mahogany four poster bed. My cousin is a tour guide with a big travel company based in Providence and he was amazed at the wonderful antiques and said we had found a real gem. Breakfast wasn't what we expected the first day we were there..but we were pleasantly surprised when we found out that Andy's mom Joy was usually there and we were treated to freshly baked blueberry muffins, an individually cut fruit cup with fresh apple,kiwi,grapes,melon and pineapple slices along with a wonderful egg, fresh spinach and feta cheese dish with bacon cooked to order..just the way we liked it. So make sure you stay when she's there..the little details she takes pride in make all the difference. We loved our stay in this safe neighborhood and would refer our friends.

OK yeah I read the reviews of how beautiful it was so I booked two nights for my fiance and I to check it out for our possible wedding. Upon entering I was impressed with the detail on the outside of the Inn and its beauty with in was breathtaking. the foyer has a huge ornately carve fireplace and coiffered ceiling. The room to the right had a gilded domed pilastered ceiling with gorgeous wall fabrics. The dining room was the room I loved the most but it was hard to say one room is better than the next ...t it was all carved oak with another huge fireplace with all carved oak painted in the arts and crafts style truly impressive once again. Lat but not least the lovely library which led us to the sun porch 2nd dining area with immense amounts of light. What an architectual gem Edgewood Manor was and yes we have booked our wedding here for July.... so see you then we cant wait to show off this wonderful find to our friends and family . It is just the venue we were looking for.

The Edgewood Manor was a perfect blend of Historic greatness and comfortable appointments. This place is truly a magical place very beautiful. The restoration of the Edgewood Manor was nothing short of spectacular. The grounds are fabulous as well. We stayed in a glorious room the scarlets retreat on the second floor. The room was very comfortable with a large mansion sized bed and pretty fireplace. It overlooked a beautiful garden and stone wall that they recently put in. Breakfast was busy and everything was very tastly just as an inn should be. The whole inn was warm and comfortable from the innkeeper Jen and the staff ...... My compliments to a fine establishment. We will return again ssing that our daughter is at Brown University just down the street.

This was a beautiful inn and by far the best inn we have ever stayed in. The lovely original interior is in amazing condition and is wonderful to just sit and relax especially in the library by the fire . The dining room was incredible all hand carved oak and hand painted beams on the ceiling with priceless grueby tile on the entire floor. I collect pottery so I was amazed to find Grueby tile in this property. The style is in the Greek Revival Colonial and is exceptional. The room was spotless and beautiful . It had a wood burning fireplace and gorgeous king size bed. The innkeeper ,Jen
